A PSA since my account is new and I'm just getting started: please understand 1) I don't take anything I post on X seriously bc life is short and I'm probably running on 4 hours sleep; it's just a bit of fun for me, and 2) the fun will be minimal if you take my posts literally.

I'm so sad to hear this. I think of all the children at the libraries and school where I worked who loved the "How Do Dinosaurs" series. They were always very popular books to read for storytime because who doesn't love a humorous book about dinosaurs? I personally very much enjoyed her beautiful books "Miriam at the River" and "The Many Problems of Rochel-Leah". Her books are beloved. My condolences to her family.
Author Jane Yolen, who wrote more than 400 books that spanned a variety of genres, has died at 87. Yolen is perhaps best known for THE DEVILโ€™S ARITHMETIC, her 1988 novel about a Jewish girl who time-travels back to 1942 Poland. ow.ly/zXxH50Zb9aQ

Happy 318th #PostboxSaturday, fellow postbox admirers! I will never get bored of the idea that Victorians used to use this postbox, nor the thought of all those thousands of letters over the years carrying news, slipped through the slot and dispersed around the world. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฎ๐ŸŽฉโค๏ธ

FYI: Chapter 12 is currently being written, albeit slowly. I cannot speculate on when it will be posted, but it is in existence and coming together.

If you need an escape from the world, this is a fantastic book. Itโ€™s like a comforting hug from a gentler, quieter world. Full of interesting information and a genuine pleasure to read. I think it was @London_W4 who recommended it. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Though this will likely not happen, I'd love to see a sister or cousin of Audrey's pop up in Darrowby [reason for this relative being previously unknown TBD] and push her along her healing journey. As a result, Audrey moves out and rents a cottage, starts her own business, and does her own thing. Siegfried admires her and is proud of her, but finds himself increasingly lonely for her and finds reasons to stop by her cottage. Being lonely for Audrey's company in particular causes him to be less focussed on his relationship with Dorothy. Even when Dorothy and Siegfried go out, he's always on the look-out for Audrey, hoping they cross paths. I would prefer not to have S7 filled with Siegfried's subtle yearning. Rather, I'd love to see Audrey continue her path of independence that started the moment she left Scarborough 10-11 yeats prior. She has healed so much due to the safety she found at Skeldale House. I believe she has healed even more and perhaps got a taste of what it would be like to simply care for a family rather than simply being a housekeeper in Sunderland. S6 Audrey was different. She seemed more self-assured, more independent; to me, she seemed less of a housekeeper and more of a wife/matriarch. I would love to see her life outside of Skeldale explored more and see her as less an extension of the Farnons. I keep say that Audrey came back to Skeldale for a reason. She didn't come back just to be the housekeeper and fixer. Tristan is grown and has his own life. James and Helen have their own lives. Audrey is not going to stay at Skeldale simply to keep Siegfried afloat. It would be bad writing, plus it would do a grave disservice to Audrey's character. I want to see her have fun, heal some more, and be absolutely cherished in S7 (even if it's not with Siegfried). #RamblingsOfAnACGASFan #ItsTooHotToBeOutsideSoImThinkingTooMuch #FantasisingAboutFictionalCharacters

The farm is home to all creatures great and small, like this eastern box turtle. After a rain, several of them make an appearance.

The garden is flourishing. I am delighted to see a wee tomato, a couple of tiny strawberries, and a few green bell peppers.

Did you know that the collective noun for ducks on the ground is a Waddling?! Sometimes the English language just gets it right. This was one of those moments when I felt like I'd stepped from the Peak District lane and right into the pages of a Beatrix Potter book, watching this lovely waddling of ducks enjoying the sunshine and flowers. This image is featured in my hardback book of photographs and words, 'A Quiet Light'. It's 152 pages of Peak District beauty, arranged seasonally, printed on the highest quality paper, perfect to dip into whenever you need a little countryside calm. Had to add about twenty more feet to the garden to make room for the pumpkin patch. October will be such a treat if the chipmunks would stop stealing the seeds! ๐Ÿคฃ In good news, I've been collecting jars for preserving once the fruit and veg come in. There was a swap after church today and I got two dozen jars for almost nothing!

Yesterday's harvest yielded lots of wonderful, medicinal plants. It'll be nice to use them to make tinctures and salves.
