How can Siri still be so bad? It doesn’t make any sense. The technology is there. They have unlimited money to pay the right people…and yet…it is the single worst technology product. It is humiliating to use
May went into the books 8th wettest in a century and a half of records in Portland. It was the wettest in 20 years (the Mother's Day Floods May of 2006).
Portland's low of 22° this morning is the coldest this late in the season in 61 years. It's also a new daily record low. Old record was 23° set in 1962.
“Keep your trail arm connected.” Sounds good. Taught everywhere.
It’s also the opposite of what Major Champions, Tour winners, and World Number 1s actually do.
Watch closely. If you care about real mechanics, not pithy outdated advice, this may change how you see the swing.

Wild market. We haven't seen anything like this since the dotcom bubble burst.
Over the last 8 sessions, 115 stocks in the S&P 500 have decline 7% or more in a single day.
The average drawdown when that happens is 34%. Right now we're 1.5% below the all-time high.
Tuned into the TGL to see how it’s going these days. First swing I watch the players are all flummoxed by a clearly bad launch monitor track and the ball sails into the water. Surely with so many millions invested you can’t have the technology this bad in year 2?
Tonight has a shot at the coldest of the winter so far for many towns in Southern and Central Maine. Clear sky, light winds, dry airmass, and deep snow pack all aid in the cold conditions. We might reach freezing early next week for the first time since last Thursday!
Google is coming to rescue Apple from AI irrelevance in 2H 2026.
Google Gemini is going drive the “Siri” experience, including deep integration into Apple’s core phone apps like Mail, Messaging, Photos, TV, podcasts, etc.
New study from China found prolonged Bluetooth headset use strongly linked to thyroid nodules.
OpenAI & Jony Ive are now building earbuds that sit directly in your ear canal 24/7.
The closer EMF is to your thyroid, the worse. This is not going to end well.
Community note
The underlying study has multiple issues:
- Based on a small sample of 96 individuals
- Results are answers to a survey, rather than biological data
- Standard analysis of the data finds no correlation between Bluetooth headset use and thyroid nodules

As we ring in the new year, we also start to see a big jump in the amount of daylight. Most of Maine will see between a 50-60 minute increase in daylight for the month. An hour or more in parts of Northern Aroostook County! ☀️☀️☀️
The first two weeks of December were coldest in 36 years and 6th coldest on record for Portland. A brief warm up with rain and wind will be the weather story late week.
On average, for a 10’ foot putt, with perfect speed and line you’ll miss 1/3 of the time. This is due to surface uncertainty.
