When Nintendo does this the GameCube section better be exactly this
Xbox has an “Xbox Eras” space at #XboxFanfest this year for every generation of console. Too much nostalgia.

It's the rent-y time of the month, so I guess this is good a time as any to remind people that I've got oodles of pop culture prints shipping worldwide here: mudron.bigcartel.com

Reinventing the dark side as “the force of nostalgia” is the sort of franchise-saving idea that would give you a billion-dollar movie, rave reviews, produce a culturally significant film and which online nerds would spend the next ten years refusing to stop complaining about.
Damon Lindelof reveals new details on his version of Daisy Ridley’s ‘STAR WARS’ film: • Rey, Finn and Poe were intended to become “the center of Star Wars.” • It would’ve explored the clash between “the force of nostalgia and the force of revision.” • The writing was really hard because they struggled with major questions like canon, tone, Episode IX connections and whether it was meant to launch a new trilogy. Honestly, a massive missed opportunity that Disney didn’t just give Werner Herzog the puppet (and puppeteers) and $5m for eight months and promise to release whatever he came back with.

gamergate 2 is 10x more annoying than gamergate 1. gamergate 1 at least had a manifesto and real people behind it. gamergate 2 is just 5% real people, 95% bots and none of them even know what they’re angry about.

re mixtape: people pointing fingers at annapurna is very funny bc it shows how few people know how the industry works. they’re a publisher, not developers. i’m glad larry ellison’s daughter is using her status to help fund & publish art. that’s one of the best nepo baby outcomes

A lot of the discourse about ATLA honestly kinda feels to me like this
Revisiting atla especially as an adult is hilarious cause you see all this discourse surrounding the supposed “maturity gap” between Katara & Aang and then you watch the show and they’re literally both just. Children. Who act like children despite having to grow up early.

Getting radicalized because I saw footage of walmart where everything was the same except there were old-timey products from my childhood on the shelves
The most radicalizing content on the internet is old footage of Americans shopping in stores 25 years ago. It's calm, quiet, civil, no fighting, no screaming, no phones, it's not overly crowded. You can't quite describe it, but you miss it so deeply.

Didn’t help that the last half of 3 was just a retread of 2, which, coupled with the ridiculous length of these films, and, yeah, the fact that the novelty has worn off, makes it even fucking crazier that Disney Cameron can pretend that a gross of $1.5 billion is a bad thing.
Also, again, the difference between being the first “Avatar” film in over a decade and the second one in three years.
