The cooperation between Türkiye and Poland continues to flourish in line with our deep-rooted friendship, strong bonds of alliance, and shared understanding of security.
On the occasion of our visit to Warsaw, we held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Poland, H.E. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, during which we discussed existing areas of collaboration in the defence industry as well as future prospects for bilateral cooperation.
In the spirit of NATO solidarity and a shared sense of responsibility, we exchanged views on further strengthening the strategic partnership between our two countries.
I extend my sincere appreciation to H.E. Kosiniak-Kamysz and his delegation for their warm hospitality and the productive nature of our discussions.

The European Parliament 🇪🇺 draft report reportedly calls for sanctions against 🇹🇷 Türkiye's Justice, Minister Akın Gürlek, citing rule-of-law and judicial independence concerns.
🔸️This is NOT an EU decision yet.
It is only a draft / recommendation inside the European Parliament report.
🔸️The European Parliament cannot impose sanctions itself.
🔸️Any real sanctions would require action by the EU Council (member states) EU institutions.
🔸️The EP does not require a criminal accusation to include someone in a report proposal.

If someone had told me a year ago that I would be invited as a guest speaker to a seminar at the University of Oxford, I probably would not have believed them.
Oxford is a place where 31 British Prime Ministers were educated, alongside figures such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, Emma Watson, Hugh Grant, and Stephen Hawking. Today, people such as Rishi Sunak and Amal Clooney are among its distinguished fellows. To contribute to a discussion there on Türkiye's role in European security was both an honour and a privilege.
I am grateful to everyone who joined the discussion, asked questions, shared new perspectives, and made the conversation so engaging. It was also a pleasure to meet many inspiring people and new colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Who knows—perhaps the future Prime Minister is among them. 😉
My sincere thanks to the Oxford Geopolitics Initiative, the Blavatnik School of Government, and everyone who made this event possible.

A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.
