Experiencing FOMO that you're not in NYC to attend #TechWeekNYC this week? Well, you can still participate from afar by participating in the virtual/online events. I just added a "virtual/online only" option to the gallery page. stagehopper.app/events_galle…

Attending #BOSTECHWEEK and frustrated that the official site from @a16z is missing a map view? Well, I've got you covered! Yesterday, with help from @aleksj, I created a browsable map of all the events happening during Tech Week Boston. natea.github.io/twag/

Now with search capabilities! Search for a topic you're interested in like "robotics" and it will show you all events for a particular day on that subject, or if you toggle "all days" it will show you all the events. #BOSTechWeek

Coming soon... - add events to your personalized schedule - push notifications to notify you when an event is starting - pinpoint your location on the map, to tell you what events are near you, and travel times to the next event. - @aleksj is adding a chat interface (woohoo!)

🧵Shout-out to @tewy—creator of 2005’s Million Dollar Homepage, a quirky pixel-grid that apparently funded college and became internet lore.

BREAKING 🚨 Your coworker is an AI agent. Nobody noticed. Introducing Xoul - the marketplace for agents that feel human. On Xoul, anyone can create and share powerful agents that work together in “swarms” without writing a single line of code. Can you spot the AI intruder?

OpenAI released the Responses API yesterday. 24 hours later I have reimplemented the API and it's running on Ragwalla, my service.

Today I played with @firecrawl which makes scraping web pages easy. The new extract feature will return structured data according to a schema that you specify. Oh, and for the schema, you can just describe the elements you want in natural language! #everydai #learninpublic

With the emergence of LLMs, modern web scrapers such as Firecrawl take a fundamentally different approach by using natural language understanding to identify and extract content, rather than relying on brittle HTML selectors.

Unlike BeautifulSoup and Scrapy which require you to specify exact HTML elements, Firecrawl lets you describe what you want to extract in plain English. This semantic approach means your scrapers keep working even when websites change their structure.

It’s pretty incredible that using @SeleniumBase, the basic scraper to grab the event title, date and URL is only 19 lines of Python code, and 6 of those are simply print statements for debugging! #everydai #learninpublic

Today for #everydai I built a simple #Django app that imports shows from Berklee.edu, and shows them on a calendar. Used @cursor_ai to build the app, and Simplescraper for scraping, although I’m looking into @SeleniumBase for a cheaper scraping option. #learninpublic
