Very interesting announcement from OpenAI this morning. We’re excited to make OpenAI's models available directly to customers on Bedrock in the coming weeks, alongside the upcoming Stateful Runtime Environment. With this, builders will have even more choice to pick the right model for the right job. More details at our AWS event in San Francisco tomorrow.

The next phase of digital governance is linked to the transition from digital services to the proactive operation of the state. With Artificial Intelligence tools that improve communication with the citizen, automate internal processes, support data-driven decision-making and enhance the productivity of the Public Administration. A few words on what we have achieved, what #GenAI can do, and potential cases for the near future. GenAI enables: - Natural-language government, 24/7 virtual public servants on portals like #govgr: answer questions, guide applications, pre-fill forms. Today, we're announcing major new updates for Amazon Bedrock that give customers unparalleled flexibility, choice, and security when developing advanced generative AI apps. One I’m especially excited about is the Custom Model Import capability, which allows customers to bring their own models to Amazon Bedrock's secure, managed environment. This promises to unlock new possibilities across industries, as customers can seamlessly access their custom model, like any other on Bedrock, and get all the same powerful capabilities—without having to manage the underlying infrastructure themselves. A couple other updates to share: 🔵 Our model evaluation capability is now generally available, making it simple to analyze, compare, and select the best foundation model for your use case. 🔵 Also available today, Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock—which offers industry-leading safety protection, helping customers block harmful content, profanity, personal information and more, out-performing all other services available today. 🔵Finally, Amazon Bedrock already offers the widest choice of fully managed FMs, and is expanding even further with Amazon Titan Text Embeddings V2, the GA of Titan Image Generator, and new models from @Meta, with @cohere's latest models coming soon. Tens of thousands of customers are innovating quickly with Amazon Bedrock. Two such examples: @United Airlines modernized its Passenger Service System, making customer support more efficient. The @NYSE is using Bedrock across several use cases, including the processing of thousands of pages of regulations to provide answers in easy-to-understand language. I found this a persuasive argument. Prime Minister @RishiSunak should reverse his churlish refusal to see his Greek counterpart, and tell him we’ll lend the Parthenon Marbles to the Acropolis Museum so this great art can be properly reunited in its natural habitat.

Earlier this year, some #AWS developers created an internal tool for Amazonians to experiment with Foundation Models from Amazon Bedrock, and it quickly became a word-of-mouth hit across AWS. Because the interface only required a user to add in a description of the app they wanted to build in a prompt box, the tool could be used by teammates across a wide spectrum of roles and technical expertise. Some built apps for productivity, while others made ones for amusement, or that tapped into personal passions. It was cool to see builders get inspired by using generative AI in a more hands on way, and by sharing their apps with each other, they were actually sharing key generative AI techniques in action. Based on the popularity and feedback, we launched this simple to use but powerful app to the world for free, naming it PartyRock (in reference to it being a fun and collaborative way to experience Amazon Bedrock). It is built on the belief that everyone should have access to a fun and easy tool to help get started with generative AI. Since launching it last week, tens of thousands of apps have been built and shared, and the creativity has been really cool to see (including apps to organize your re:Invent schedule, plan a Formula 1 trip, and find the best coffee in Vegas).
