The uneven and heavy-handed application of terror laws used on @Pal_action activists taking action to end British complicity in the Gaza genocide is a hugely concerning and authoritarian move by the British state.

โ Israel to release them immediately, and let them sail unimpeded to Gaza;
โ The UK to act under its Article 94 UNCLOS duties as flag-state to ensure the safety of the crew;
โ Crew membersโ home states (Brazil, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Turkey), to intervene to ensure the safety of their citizens.
There is no legal basis for Israelโs actions. All states must uphold their obligations under the Genocide Conventionโto prevent further acts of genocide and end Israelโs impunity.
It should never have fallen to ordinary citizens to do what states refuse to.

A little context that the BBC has failed to mention: The Israeli army has killed at least 25 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire began. It has also obstructed humanitarian assistance, including preventing the entry of tents and shelters as agreed upon in the deal.
