As we @nextpathwayslab continue to uncover paths to #prosperity and #peace, the need for 'a reformed multilateral system' is increasingly evident to address complex global challenges and ensure equitable representation of diverse voices in international decision-making processes
"I am a committed multilateralist.”
“A reformed multilateral system is the path to peace and prosperity on a livable planet."

Happy to announce that my PhD students @NRInstitute and I will host a panel session on "defueling violent conflict and climate crises in drylands" tomorrow at the Environmental Peacebuilding Conference in the Hague @EnvPeacebuild. Exciting times ahead!
Recently presented @nextpathwayslab research on "the nexus of climate & conflict in the #LakeChad region: what we know, don’t know and need to know " at the @ussee 2024 conference in #Albany New York State.

Our @nextpathwayslab "YOUNG CITIZENS PANEL" is starting right now in the city of #Maiduguri. Our goal is to track the politics of knowledge underpinning prosperity and peace using two rounds of panel meetings involving young people with an expert workshop in between
Our "constructivist citizen labs" in #Nigeria, #Niger & #Chad are underpinned by constructivist principles, meaning they're not like normal workshops, seminars or world cafes where expert facilitators control the flow of ideas & reinforce "banking models" of #knowledge generation
Our @nextpathwayslab constructivist citizen lab session has just started at the University of Maiduguri NIGERIA. This satisfies @nextpathwayslab goal of bringing together science, society & the state in a mutually beneficial way to #cocreate pathways of change for #LakeChad
Thermal discomfort is not just about "heat" or "climate". It's also about human metabolic rate & clothing insulation. New work from @uche4purpose & project team @nextpathwayslab provides 1st systematic analysis of the nexus of thermal discomfort & conflict in tropical drylands
@uche4purpose discusses thermal discomfort - distress due to exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures - and conflict in tropical dry lands basing on studies in the Lake Chad region of central & west Africa.

Grateful to work alongside brilliant minds like @Uche4purpose at @NRInstitute. His contribution to the Global Tipping Points Report 2023 was launched at #COP28 yesterday. The report delves into the risks & opportunities of Earth's tipping points 🌍🚀 #TeamWork#ClimateAction ⤵️
Thrilled that I could contribute to the Global Tipping Points Report 2023 launched at #COP28 today. The report is the first comprehensive assessment of the risks & opportunities of both negative & positive tipping points in the #Earth system @NRInstituteglobal-tipping-points.org/
