No 10/10 car, no Safety Car, no lucky DNFs, just a 39 year old showing the world his unmatched skill once more, holding off three faster cars to win at home. In one single race: - Most wins at one circuit - First and only driver to win past 300 Grand Prix starts - Longest interval between first and final win - Most seasons with at least one race win - Oldest race winner of the 21st century - Most podiums at one circuit - Extended most career wins - Extended most career podiums - Extended most podiums with one team - Extended most wins with one team - Extended most consecutive podiums at one circuit "He is the man who raises the bar, who raises the stats, who takes things to stratospheric levels and he's only got three more corners now..." Anyone tell me how Lewis does not get framed as the GOAT?

After 2025, to come back like this and win the moment there's even a sniff of it. Unreal. If there ever was a GOAT debate, there's none anymore.

I dont understand the reaction to his quote. I don't think its a slight at Leclerc, its just true and him discusses chances/expectations for the race, talking from experience. We remember Monza 2018 where Ferrari started 1-2, Vettel spun on Lap 1 and Kimi Raikkonen was left for dead. Mercedes did unspeakable things to him using both their cars to leave him no chance, even in likely the faster car. Now Lewis could face the same situation today. Leclerc could've said the same for last season although the difference definitely was that he never had the car to fight for the win. IF Ferrari have the car today and strategy becomes the deciding factor, Mercedes simply have a massive advantage. The fact that both their drivers are title rivals is good though as they won't be able to sacrifice ones race.

Hamilton vs Leclerc going through a rough patch according to DeltaData is the flirting vs harassment meme. So embarrassing.
I don’t think there’s any need to make such a fuss about Leclerc; he was ahead of Hamilton in Q2 and, right up until the crash (with both first sectors completed) Leclerc’s potential lap time was still faster than Lewis’s. Obviously, this doesn’t take anything away from Hamilton’s final lap, but it would have been great to see a lap time from Leclerc in Q3 so we could measure his representative pace.

Standing Ovation in what is basically an rival ground btw. He used to get booed here regularly.
Sir Lewis Hamilton is the GREATEST WE HAVE EVER SEEN. Missed an FP Session DOGSHIT in the other two, 5 tenths off in Q3 and he beats a Mercedes rocketship to go 6 hundredths off pole. You rock my world.

This is why Lewis and Mercedes didn't take their Abu Dhabi 2021 Appeal to court btw. They were clearly in the right and had a very good case for winning, just like Pierre, but in the end winning like that is just garbage. You lose out on basically all the stuff that makes the moment of winning so great. Very reminiscent of Morocco and their AFCON. I think the only thing worse than winning a title in court, even if it's totally correct, is winning a title through an FIA donation. Besides, Mercedes thought they had another rocketship on their hands for 2022 so they thought they'd just win the eighth right then instead. I'm happy they didn't go through with it either way as we wouldn't have gotten Silverstone 2024 and Lewis in red otherwise, and everyone on the planet knows that Lewis was the rightful winner anyways. Congratulations to Pierre though, it's a completely deserved podium and Alpine are right to fight for every point.

Where was this leniency for Lewis when he switched teams for the first time in 10 years and engines for the first time in his career? When he had to adapt to a completely new car which was not tailored to him in the slightest? He came in knowing what needed to be done but from the media and accounts like you he got absolutely zero tolerance for the time it needed to be implemented. But now here's Leclerc struggling with the same brakes he's always had and suddenly its perfectly fine for him to be off the pace of his 41 year old teammate at literally his best circuit? He was worse in China and Miami and Canada and Monaco but yea it was all just bad luck and mistakes or something out of his control apparently. "He was on the pace of Lewis and could've beat him", maybe if he hadn't sent it into the wall multiple times in a single weekend. I don't think you quite grasp how embarrassing this weekend was for Leclerc. "It doesnt bode well for Lewis once Charles adapts" as if Leclerc is in the underdog role here. He SHOULD be faster than Lewis, he SHOULD be beating him. He's getting embarrassed within his own four walls here. He is almost 30 years old and yet his fans treat him like a rookie. They hold him to no standard and let him get away with everything, its truly hilarious. Who could've ever guessed after Abu Dhabi last year that it would take just 6 races for Lewis to have an entire fanbase on strings like this?

Yes, absolutely, but you know that the vast majority don’t stop to analyse anything

I'm sorry but I dont think people realize just how ridiculous this is at age 41. He's not in the best car, he has one of the best drivers on the grid as his teammate and has just come off the two worst seasons of his career, where the media was constantly calling for his retirement. Now he's P2 in the world championship, matching and beating said teammate and looking just like he never left. Not only does he hold the greatest rookie season in history, but twenty years later he is STILL at the top of his game. That longevity in of itself is just completely untouchable and I don't think people quite grasp that. There's rookies and championship leaders on the grid that have never lived in a world in which Lewis wasn't the pinnacle of this sport.
