Germanism strikes me as tangled, overgrown, dark, obscure, half-articulate, intricate, thorough.
Hellenism is clear, lucid, precise, articulate, transparent, luminous, and admirably straightforrward.
English philosophy more closely resembles Hellenism than Germanism.
Greek philosophy is clear. Greek thought is lucid, transparent, conducted in daylight. You can agree or disagre with it, but you are not left wondering what, precisely, it's trying to say.
German philosophy, which I confess I have a certain soft spot for, is a different thing.
