@odrive has been getting high marks as a Google Drive for Desktop substitute (formerly Drive File Steam) until they release the update needed to make it work on the M1.
That update will be a part of Google Drive V47.0 scheduled for release in April 2021.

I decided to do a clean install on all my devices. I was not only using Google Chrome, but I was also using Google Drive File Stream. As a result, I was concerned that it had the same issues. I am now using @odrive to mount Google Drive in Finder. Couldn’t be happier!

Hey Amit, I just found @odrive and it seems to be a great workaround to not having File Stream for M1 Macs. Perhaps even better than File Stream!
