Your obsequiousness is frankly a bit unsightly. Have some dignity.

bro they're running out of compute so hard right now
People replace their phones every ~4 yrs. This means there are hundreds of millions of old phones discarded each year that are still perfectly usable as computing devices. @Google in collabration with @UCSD is exploring how to turn these old phones into cloud-computing β€œphone clusters”. Putting phones back in service in this way can directly reduce the environmental footprint of computing by avoiding the need for further raw material extraction, and taking advantage of the embodied carbon already incurred from manufacturing these devices, and modern phones actually are already quite powerful computers. Every year I sit down with my mother to explain how to use her phone and every year Apple sends 750 engineers into their little labs underneath their demonic Cupertino crop circle to come up with new and exciting ways to confuse her

There are some non-obvious trade offs that need to be considered carefully. But we’re working on it, stay tuned!

Your commentary here is a smidge unfair. Donald is highlighting that Canada is facing structural and systemic problems and that talking about the recession misses the point (a headache vs. a broken arm). FWIW, I agree with her. Especially because the data might be revised upward next quarter. Where she failed is by not pointing the blame where it belongs. 11 years of shit policy from the LPC. But as an RBC employee, she was never going to do that.

the thing that really worries me about this, is that I'm concerned that Open Source apps will not be able to participate
Canada's open banking officially kicked off. Phase 1 is read access only. You can see the data. You cannot move money yet. Write access isn't until 2027. The RTR is still in testing. The headline says it's live. As a payments engineer, I'd say the real work hasn't started.

Just discovered that curl has a --json flag. Instead of: curl-X POST -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{...}' <url> you can write curl --json '{...}' <url>

The business case, in a nutshell. A new oil pipeline to the coast could be declared in the national interest today. Fed & prov govt could then sort out how to make it feasible over the summer. Construction cld start Labour Day. That would be building at speeds not seen in a generation.
In 2025, energy products became Canada's largest export category to Korea. Korea has already invested $1.6 billion in the LNG Canada project and is expected to double that as future phases advance. Korea has also recently scrapped its 3 percent tariff on Canadian crude oil imports and is expected to import 16 million barrels of Canadian crude this year, rising to 20 million barrels next year. koreajoongangdaily.joins.com…

calling all bundlejs users, I'm trying to stress test the API and fix any remaining edge cases, thus far tarballs are now supported, jsr is as good as rain, etc... There should be very few packages that fully break the bundlejs api anymore, so throw me your challenging package.

Yeah premature standardization isn’t a good thing. Slash commands, skills, and plugins in claude code were all different things at one point.
