What if calibrating a large motion capture volume could be as simple as launching a drone?
As part of Oregon State University’s Senior Capstone program, this student team explored a new approach to automating OptiTrack calibration in large or difficult-to-access spaces.
Using a drone, custom 3D-printed components, SLAM mapping, and automated flight paths, the project points toward a future where complex tracking environments can be calibrated faster, safer, and with less manual setup.
