Fireheart Tiger, by @aliettedb is amazing and rightly up for a Hugo atm (CN: abusive relationships, implied assault)
To Embody a Wildfire Starting, by @singlecrow will be in my Hugo noms next year
(emet), by @RingWrites was up for a Nebula and is a gorgeous tale of resistance
To those shouting homophobe at me. 1. That is patently bonkers. 2. The replies are littered with posts like the one below.
Babe.
The call is coming from inside the house. X
The number of my gay and lesbian friends who are sick to the teeth of being used as either a shield or a cudgel in 'the gender wars' against our own friends and community is... Well it's ALL of them!
The tiny minority, of gay people who feel differently. Speak for yourself, you do not speak for me or all gay people.
I find your beliefs embarrassing and unpalatable, but they're yours to have. So please fight your own battles, do not try and put all gay people there with you.
I'll scream it till the grave.
Cisgender heterosexual folk I do NOT need you to 'protect' me from trans people. I do not need you to tell me what's good for me, or how my sexuality is defined, or what gender is.
You attack my trans friends, you attack me.
It's that simple.
It is absolutely sickening to compare ICE law enforcement agents to the Gestapo.
Attacks and demonization of ICE and our partners is wrong. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.
Our message is clear: DO NOT come to this country illegally. If you do, we will arrest you, deport you and you will never return.
Using the term "secret police" to describe my cadre of plain-clothes kidnappers who refuse to identify themselves is deeply hurtful and makes the work of extrajudicial ethnic cleansing that much more dangerous,

I don't remember the same outrage from politicians or the public after the Parachute Regiment were filmed shooting holes in a picture of Jeremy Corbyn. I wonder why...
Good.
Kneecap’s glorification of terrorism and anti-British hatred has no place in our society.
Now footage shows one of them saying: "The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP."
After the murder of Sir David Amess, this demands prosecution.
So Jeremy Corbyn met kneecap in Dec 2023 and talked to them about Irish literature. David Lammy met Netanyahu in July 2024 in the middle of a genocide, yet Corbyn is the one that should apologise. Yeah, whatever.
What does "canceled" even mean? JKR continues to sell loads of books, the movies made from those books are streaming on major platforms, she has a huge new project in the works with HBO.
Does "canceled" just mean "criticized for shitty behavior"?
[AlwaysHasAstronaut.jpg]
JKR like every trans hostile, gender critical, will target ANY woman who demonstrates an inkling of intersectional support for trans people.
Here's one such example.
DBB holds such values and JKR just can't resist having a dig, in doing so releases her dementors

ALT Statement: We call on the trade union, feminist, LGBTQ , anti-racist, disability justice, abolitionist, socialist and environmental movements to stand with us—not as allies, but as comrades fighting for the total transformation of society together. The time for revolution is now.
Join us on Monday 21st April, 1pm, at the Nye Bevan Statue in Cardiff to march with us and show the UK government that they can try their best to erase us, but we have and always will exist.
We will resist, we will fight and we need to do it together.
ALT This ruling does precisely the opposite of what it has claimed it will. It will not reduce violence against women. It will not progress women’s liberation. It will expand the misogynistic far-rights power to gender police and strengthen the state’s power to divide, dominate, and control women whose bodies and expression do not conform to its norms. The ruling is not a win for feminism, it tramples on the sacrifices of global feminists who have fought to redefine what it means to be a woman on our own terms. It harms all women, and tries to weaken our collective power by turning us against one another.
This ruling isn’t isolated—it is the same system that profits from division, exploitation and suffering. The same government that has weaponized this ruling also fuels the ongoing genocide in Palestine. The same forces that target the trans community also drive the destruction of the planet. It is the capitalist-state that allows a few to determine all of our lives.
JOINT STATEMENT AND CALL TO ACTION

ALT Slide 1 Image text: Cardiff March for Trans Liberation. Monday April 21st 1PM. Aneurin Bevan Statue, Queen Street, Cardiff. Join us to protest the Supreme Court ruling excluding Trans women and femmes from womens spaces. There will be indoor space available after to rest, decompress, and support each other. The logos for We Exist, Trans Pride Cardiff, Black Lives Matter Cardiff & Vale, and Trans Aid Cymru are across the bottom. An image of people wearing progress and trans pride flags is in the background.
ALT Statement: On April 16, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the definition of a “woman” as stated in the Equality Act 2010 refers to ‘ biological women and biological sex.” The case relates to an appeal by anti-trans group For Women Scotland, against the Scottish Government.
This ruling legally excludes trans women—even those with Gender Recognition Certificates—from protections designed for women, setting a dangerous precedent that reinforces the authority of the state to dictate our bodies and right to self determination.
This decision was made without a single trans voice permitted to speak in court. Three of the four intervenors were explicitly anti-trans, and a retired trans judge, Victoria McCloud, was blocked from offering evidence. The court’s ruling was not only unjust, it was engineered to be. When the people most affected are denied the right to speak, it is a show trial in service of state violence.
ALT Statement: This ruling will have devastating consequences for transwomen, who already experience disproportionately higher rates of domestic and sexual violence, discrimination in housing, employment, healthcare and police harassment and surveillence. It will legitimise and further embolden those already trying to bar trans women from changing rooms, shelters, health care, domestic violence shelters, sport and community spaces. We will see an increase in medical neglect, state surveillance, and societal violence against our community—especially against those who exist at the intersections of state oppression: black, brown, migrant, disabled, poor and sex workers.
For our intersex siblings this is another in a long line of state-imposed violences: pathologisation, forced surgeries, and now, further legal erasure under a binary sex system that was never designed to reflect the reality of their bodies or lives.
