Roy Keane on Turkey losing 2-0 to Australia national soccer team in their World Cup opener: 🗣️ “I don't want to hear excuses. Before the match, everyone was talking about Turkey as if the three points were already in the bag. Well, football doesn't care about predictions. Australia looked like a team playing for their lives. Turkey looked like a team waiting for something to happen. That's the difference. One side competed, the other side expected. What annoys me most is the attitude. You can forgive mistakes. You can forgive missed chances. But you cannot forgive a lack of urgency at a World Cup. Australia won the physical battle, the mental battle, and in key moments they won the football battle too. That's embarrassing if you're Turkey because they were supposed to be the team making the statement tonight. Some players will look at the tactics, some will blame luck, and some will point fingers elsewhere. Nonsense. Start by looking in the mirror. World Cups are not won by talent alone. The harsh reality is this: Australia arrived believing they could win. Turkey arrived believing they should win. One mindset creates history. The other creates headlines like this.”

🚨🗣️ | Wayne Rooney on the Media Hypocrisy Regarding Arsenal: “I’ve been seeing the reaction to the Bayern and PSG game, and honestly, it’s a joke. Everyone was hyping this up as the 'ultimate' game of the week, the most entertaining game of the round. It ends 1-1 and I’m seeing nothing. Where’s that same energy people have for Arsenal? When Arsenal grind out a 1-0 win or a 1-1 draw the media calls it 'boring' or 'negative football.' But look at Bayern tonight I didn’t see a team that wanted to win. I saw a Bayern side that looked like they expected PSG to just sit back and defend, but got disappointed. They played with zero energy, their body language was completely lackluster, and they looked lost. If Mikel Arteta’s side put in a performance like that, every pundit in the country would be slating them for the next week. People need to start being honest. You look at Arsenal versus Atlético yesterday that was a proper Champions League semi-final. It had everything: intensity, quality, drama. It was the most entertaining match of the week by a mile. But because it's Arsenal, the goalposts always move. Now that the media’s favorites, PSG and Bayern, have put on a 1-1 aggregate snoozefest, is anyone calling it 'haram football'? Of course not. We all know the answer to that. It’s pure hypocrisy. Deep down, everyone knows this Arsenal team is one of the best in Europe right now. The only reason people pretend to hate the way they play is because their own teams aren't half as good as them. It’s time we start judging football on fairness and logic, not just because it’s popular to have a go at Arsenal”

Only when it starts to hurt them. A month ago 70-80% of the population wanted Gaza to be obliterated.
Israel's National Security Minister Itmar Ben-Gvir is heckled by a resident of the Israeli city of Arad where he went to meet with residents after it was hit heavily by Iranian missiles The resident can be heard screaming at the minister: "You are a Jewish Nazi. You are responsible for all the death! You have no business here! Get out of my city"

Trump’s taunts about Canada as the “51st state” aren’t new. For decades, Canada has operated as a junior partner to US capital, a reality socialist thinkers named clearly in the 1960s. Sovereignty without economic independence was always a fragile promise. canadiandimension.com/articl…

This is now 20 years old, but worth remembering as US is supposedly acting as a broker between Israel and one Palestinian faction. Helps to check the political alliance of the US interlocutors Jared Kuschner and Steve Witkoff) Israel's Lawyer washingtonpost.com/archive/o…

Absolutely extraordinary exchange between Israel and China 👇 I've never seen such a heated exchange come out of top-level forum in China (this is from the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum that started yesterday), this normally never happens. The guy speaking is Yan Xuetong, the dean of the Institute of International Relations at Tsinghua University, the most prestigious university in China. Speaking for Israel is a military officer apparently called Elad Shoshan. Yan Xuetong truly doesn't hold back: - When the Israeli officer tries to bullshit him around how Israel supposedly protects civilians in Gaza, he replies: "You killed more than 70,000 civilians!... The fact is not decided by you... It is not decided by your government. Your government has no legitimacy or the right to decide or defend what is fact" - And when told that the war will end when Hamas release hostages he replies: "No, this kind of propaganda have too many. No one believe it! Too many! Too much! No one believe it, except a few Israelis"
