Why are tigers so conspicuously colored? Doesn't it give them away to prey? Well, they're conspicuous to us, with our trichromatic vision. But the species they typically hunt have dichromatic vision, and can't distinguish orange from green. To them, tigers are camouflaged!

☝️When Stockholm introduced a low congestion charge for the bridges, traffic dropped by 20%.
Doesn’t sound like much, but because traffic is a non-linear phenomenon, the difference in congestion was marked…

In the 90s & 00s I had this naive notion that anything published online would ALWAYS be online. Almost nothing from the 90s survived, & the 00s stuff that got indexed on Wayback only really exists for those of us who remember where to look, functionally erased for everyone else.
