Heuristic templating should both conserve tokens and often expend them profligately. Disclosure matters.
βοΈπŸ€– NEW: You can feel it. #AI models are making editing and thinking production errors, and in Fable 5, in increasingly sophisticated ways. We name a phenomenon we've been observing since December: heuristic templating. The token conservation rationale is reasonable, but personal use and corporate implications are substantial, and may end up being more token consumptive in the long run. βοΈπŸ€– Fable is a fable. Anthropic is being selectively targeted. Both of these things can be true. "The β€œFable” Disclosure, Stage by Stage" b2bnn.com/2026/06/the-fable-… sorting out the #AI model hype from government overreach on @B2BNewsNetwork

And you really have to wonder is Anthropic winking at us with the name Fable like Fable is literally a fable. It's a story. It is not real. It is Mythos with prompt routing. Are they winking at us or are they mocking us?

βοΈπŸ€– The past couple of months have seen frontier models reach apparent new, potentially existentially powerful capabilities, according to some of the marketing. It includes a powerful dose of new hype, but separating fact from fiction is more complicated than ever and what seems straightforward (ish) on the surface is not. "Two new model" names from Anthropic is less obvious, and seemingly less secure, than it appears. The comms have been confusing and somewhat contradictory. But so is the government directive targeting Anthropic. Competitor OpenAI has had the same capability with less marketing fanfare since the spring, and the same classification routing for a while. So why was only Mythos taken off-line for "foreign nationals"? We dig into Mythos, "Fable," (should we have inferred more from the nomenclature?) the technology, the comms and the security, b2bnn.com/2026/06/the-fable-… this morning on @B2BNewsNetwork #AI

(points where things are clearly going) enjoy your raw inference while you can, folks
I do wonder if frontier labs will stop making their models available via general-purpose inference APIs and only make them available via abstract (and restricted, with an additional control/veto plane) task-specific APIs...

These folks definitely know how to capitalize on a moment. Irony: their new North model launch announcement was sandbagged by the same-day Fable release. New reality: the Mythos/Fable "foreign national" directive is a huge boost for their Canadian sovereignty argument, their EU partnership and acquisition, (globally) and new open-weight models. #AI

LLMs can quietly shift our attitudes on important social issues. In the experiments, participants wrote about issues such as the death penalty, voting rights for felons, fracking, and genetically modified organisms. As they wrote, the AI subtly nudged them toward one side of the debate. The result? Their attitudes shifted in the direction favored by the AI. They did so quietly. They did not argue, did not debate, did not try to persuade. They simply complete the sentences. This is epistemia in action: the silent shaping of what becomes thinkable, sayable, and believable. And it is LLMorphism at its most dangerous. We treat the model as a neutral linguistic prosthesis, while it is quietly reorganizing our cognition. We risk becoming the LLM. * Paper in the first reply
