The QueensLink would reuse an abandoned 3.5-mile rail corridor in NYC, no expensive tunneling. At ~$3.5B, it’s one of the cheapest ways to expand the subway. Add upzoning near new stations and you unlock massive transit-oriented development. 160,000 new homes.

If you build the trails first, the rail will never come. The only north south mass transit corridor in Queens will be gone forever. Our roads will continue to get more congested and parking more challenging. Queens let’s not blow this!

QueensWay should not come at the expense of QueensLink. For those who haven't been following this years-long debate, a translation:
A linear park is great — but not if it blocks future public transit on a rare existing right-of-way. Queens needs both rails and trails!
