Thanks to @NationalGallery and their loan to South Shields Museum and Art Gallery (@NE_Museums) I got to see Monet's version of a grey river in winter as well as our own Tyneside version. Monet's looked a bit more scenic and with a slightly less freezing wind blowing over it 😄

Circumstances lead to me being on Newcastle Quayside in spring sunshine. Along with the much loved Swing Bridge, my eye was also taken by the old fish market's imposing entrance and the Turnbull building (1888) looking over the river from its viewpoint near the keep 🙂
