I have a senior on my roster who hasn’t attended my class a single day this semester. She showed up today for the first time. We have 7 days left before grades are finalized for seniors. My administrator just asked me to see what I can do to help her graduate. In case anyone here is a new follower, this is why I’m leaving public education.

The so-called Railway Safety Act would raise the cost of everything Americans buy, including electricity. America’s energy producers are pushing back against prescriptive mandates in the Railway Safety Act that would raise household energy prices. atr.org/coal-industry-oppose…

Dear @RepAdrianSmith, I’m glad you want fuel freedom. Therefore will you join @BasedMikeLee, @chiproytx, @RepScottPerry, etc in supporting elimination of the ethanol mandate in exchange for year-round E15? Otherwise you’re just expanding the mandate. x.com/AlexEpstein/status/205…
Stop corn and oil lobbyists from permanently expanding the ethanol mandate The corn lobby, joined by many oil lobbyists, is pushing a bill to expand the ethanol mandate by 1) loosening air quality rules and 2) imposing the mandate on small refineries. This will raise fuel costs.

Ethanol mandates suck. American consumers should be free to decide whether to put corn in their gas tanks. Would you prefer to make that decision yourself—rather than having it made for you by Congress?

RIP to a legend, who also happened to play Lobo basketball...

ALT revenge of the nerds GIF

Former UNM Lobo basketball player Donald Gibb, maybe a little better known for his role as Ogre on 'Revenge of the Nerds' has died. He was 71. He's tied for first all-time in career FG% in Lobo history. He was 2-for-2 (100%) while playing for Norm Ellenberger in the 70s.

The U.S. 30-Year Yield is now 5.03%. It has only been higher for a handful of days in the last 19 years. And it is now just 8 basis points from a new 19-year high.

Over half that was covered by a state bailout. The rest was from cutting pension investments, which will just balloon pension costs down the road. So great job?
🚨 When Mayor Mamdani took office, NYC had a $12 billion deficit. It is now $0.

This is a great system @AlexEpstein has put together. I just used it. And NM is not a corn producing state (in case you didn't know) meaning that we get nothing out of ethanol but more pollution, higher food costs, and wasted money. @NM4Opportunity @NMOilAndGas @IPANewMexico

It's rough when taxpayers no longer pick up 30% of the tab for your rooftop solar installation.
New Mexico #solar panel installers are facing a harsh new market reality with the Dec. 31 cessation of a 30% federal tax credit against the cost of a rooftop solar system. Biden signed the credit into law. Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Act phased it out. N.M. installers say sales are down by as much as 40% in the first quarter after the credit's expiration. Some are offering residents leasing options to take advantage of another tax credit. Others say rooftop solar can survive without government support. #renewableenergy abqjournal.com/business/in-n…

New Mexico could be a very wealthy state but instead Democrat waste and send money else where and pocket the money for them selfs. We could put all that revenue. Worth billions. In our schools and homeless and so forth but they won't Democrats hate everyone

For decades, New Mexicans have been told to blame Republicans and the @NewMexicoGOP for the problems facing our state. But here’s the reality: @NMDEMS have controlled the New Mexico Legislature for approximately 95% of the last 100 years — including continuous control of at least one chamber since 1931. They controlled the budgets. They controlled education policy. They controlled public safety laws. They controlled healthcare expansion. They controlled economic policy. Yet New Mexico continues to rank near the bottom nationally in crime, child well-being, education, poverty, and healthcare. At some point, accountability matters. You cannot govern a state for nearly a century and still blame the minority party for the results. This isn’t about party loyalty. It’s about outcomes. New Mexico deserves leadership focused on results, not excuses.

Culture starts at the top. MLG has been vindictive and unwilling to admit her numerous mistakes while in office. CYFD may be the failure with the most profound long-term impacts (and that's saying something considering MLG's abject COVID failure): santafenewmexican.com/news/l…

So, to be clear, she started the program illegally, the program overspent immediately, New Mexico's workforce participation rate dropped dramatically since November, and now they won't release basic capacity data? @tjwilham @bobkkob @1housestrauss
Since Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced plans to offer no-cost daycare and pre-k for families, The New Mexican has repeatedly requested data on New Mexico’s childcare capacity. But reliable data on the subject has been surprisingly hard to find. sfnm.co/3P99NXh
