Chronic underinvestment and a lack of focus on children in health policy has resulted in children in Britain having some of the worst health outcomes in Europe. Our children are getting sicker, with rising rates of obesity, asthma, diabetes, worsening mental health and poor oral health. Record numbers of children and young people are waiting to access health services and are more likely to have to wait for over a year than adults. We must not allow these trends to continue. Unhealthy children become unhealthy adults. Collectively we have put forward various solutions, such as addressing the investment gap between child and adult health services, improving national oversight and investing in community health services. We urge this government to work with us to protect the health of future generations.
