A paper leak is a wrongful act committed before a single student enters the examination hall. If authorities can prevent the leak at its source, there is no need to turn exam centres into fortresses. The real failure is not inside the exam hall. It is in the system that allowed the paper to escape in the first place. Stop the leak and then protect merit.

Giving emphasis to regional identity is not subterranean separatism. Tamil Nadu gives equal importance to both national and regional identity. These need not be mutually exclusive. This is the biggest blind spot for the BJP and its supporters in Tamil Nadu. Annamalai understood that, but he was unable to convince the central leadership.

The issue is not biometric verification, CCTV monitoring, or security checks. The issue is making students pay the price for administrative failures. If paper leaks are the concern, fix the system that allowed them in the first place. Treating every student like a potential suspect is not protecting merit. It is compensating for a lack of trust in the examination process. And comparing NEET with Gaokao misses the point. Strong security measures are effective when they support a credible system. When repeated leaks and administrative lapses occur, adding more surveillance does not automatically restore trust. Accountability protects merit. @annamalai_k

பாண்டேவுடனான வானதி பேட்டியை பார்த்தேன். தேர்தலில் தோற்றதாக கட்சியை டிபெண்ட செய்வதை விடவும், எங்கள் மீது எந்த தவறும் இல்லை என்பதையே அதிகம் டிபெண்ட செய்கிறார். ஆனால் ஒருவிதத்தில் தைரியமான பேட்டி என்று தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். பாண்டே எவ்வளவு தான் முயற்சித்தாலும் ஒரேடியாக அடித்து பேசி தப்பித்து விட்டார் வானதி. பாஜக ஏன் குறைந்த சீட் எண்ணிக்கைக்கு ஒத்துக்கொண்டது என்று கேட்ட பொழுது அதற்கு சரியான பதில் இல்லை. கட்சி மேலிடம் மீது பழி போட்டு தப்பித்துக்கொண்டார். சீட் பேரம் பேசும் போது சிட்டிங் எம் எல் ஏ தொகுதிகளை கேட்கக்கூடாது என்று அதிமுக நிபந்தனை விதித்தாக சொல்கிறார். ஆனால் அக்காவே அதிமுக சிட்டிங் எம் எல் ஏ தொகுதியில் தான் நின்றார்.அதிமுகவின் சிட்டிங் எம் எல் ஏக்கள் எண்ணிக்கை 66 தான். மொத்தமுள்ள 234 தொகுதிகளில் எத்தனையோ தொகுதிகளை கேட்டு வாங்கியிருக்கலாம். ஆனால் பாண்டே குறிப்பிட்டது போல் மொத்தமாக விட்டுக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறது பாஜக. அதற்கு வானதியிடம் எந்த பதிலும் இல்லை. அண்ணாமலை தனது ராஜினாமாவை பற்றி டிசம்பர் மாதமே கட்சி தலைமையிடம், தமிழக தலைமையிடம் தெரிவித்துவிட்டதாக அவருடைய வீடியோவில் தெரிவித்திருந்தார். இதை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் விதமாக தேர்தலுக்கு முன்பாக அவர் கொடுத்த ஒரு பேட்டி ஆதாரமாக இருக்கிறது. அதாவது தமிழக தேர்தல் பிரச்சாரம் ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன்னதாக அண்ணாமலை கொடுத்த பேட்டி. அதிலேயே அவர் தெளிவாக நான் போட்டியிட விரும்பவில்லை என்பதை கடிதம் மூலம் தெரிவித்து விட்டேன் என்பதை சொல்லியிருப்பார். ஆனால் தனது தொகுதியை விட்டுக்கொடுக்க முன்வந்ததாக வானதி பேட்டியில் சொல்கிறார். மேலும் அண்ணாமலைக்கு என்று எந்த தொகுதியும் கேட்டு பெறவில்லை என்பதும் அவரது பேட்டியில் உறுதியாகிறது. கோர் கமிட்டி மீட்டிங்கில் அண்ணாமலை ஒரு தொகுதியை குறிப்பிட்டதாகவும், அதை கேட்டு பெற்றதாகவும், அதன் பிறகு அண்ணாமலை வேறு தொகுதியை கேட்டதாகவும் சொல்கிறார். ஆனால் அதில் நம்பகத்தன்மை இல்லை. கொங்கு பகுதியில் வானதி மட்டுமே செல்வாக்கு செலுத்தவேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில், கோவையில் ஒரு தொகுதியை மட்டும் திட்டமிட்டு பெற்றதாகவே தெரிகிறது. தொகுதி மாறியதற்கு பெரிதாக விளக்கம் இல்லை. பாண்டே கேட்டது போல, வானதி, முருகன், நயினார், தமிழிசை ஆகியோருக்கு கேட்ட தொகுதிகள் கிடைத்திருக்கிறது. கோவை வடக்கு தொகுதிக்கு மாற வேண்டும் என்ற முடிவை 8 மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பே எடுத்து, அந்த தொகுதியில் வேலையும் செய்து வந்தார் வானதி. மற்ற முடிவுகளுக்கெல்லாம் கட்சியை கைகாட்டும் வானதி, இந்த முடிவை மட்டும் எப்படி அவரே எடுத்தார்.? அதிமுகவுடன் கூட்டணி அமைந்த உடனேவே தன்னுடைய தொகுதியை உறுதி செய்திருக்கிறார் வானதி என்பது வெளிப்படையாக தெரிகிறது. அதே போலத்தான் கட்சி வேட்பாளரை அறிவிக்கும் முன்னரே எடப்பாடியுடன் பிரச்சாரத்திற்கு புறப்பட்டார் தமிழிசை. அதிமுகவின் கோட்டையான அவிநாசி தொகுதியை முருகனுக்காக விட்டுக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் எடப்பாடி. திருநெல்வேலி தொகுதியில் இருந்து சாத்தூர் தொகுதிக்கு மாறும் முடிவையும் நயினாரே எடுத்திருக்கிறார். அதற்கு பதிலுதவியாக பாஜக குறைந்த தொகுதிகளை பெற்றிருக்கிறது. அதிலும் எந்த வகையிலும் வெற்றி வாய்ப்பு இல்லாத தொகுதிகளை கூட பாஜகவின் தலையில் காட்டியிருக்கிறார் எடப்பாடி. ஒரே காரணம் இந்த நால்வர் அணியின் தில்லாலங்கடிகள் தான். அதிமுக கூட்டணி தான் வேண்டும் என்று அடம்பிடித்ததில் இருந்து, தொகுதி உடன்பாடு வரை அனைத்தையும் முன்னிருந்து செய்தது இந்த நால்வர் அணி தான். பிப்ரவரி வரை தமிழகத்திற்கு வந்துகொண்டிருந்த அமித்ஷா மார்ச் முதல் தேர்தல் முடியும் வரை வரவே இல்லை என்பதையும் சேர்த்தே பார்க்க வேண்டும். தமிழக பாஜகவை அடமானம் வைத்து சன்மானம் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள். இதெல்லாம் கண் முன் நடக்கும் போது அண்ணாமலை பாஜகவில் இருந்து என்ன பயன். அவரால் என்ன செய்திருக்க முடியும். அண்ணாமலை பாஜகவில் இருந்து வெளியேறிவிட்டார் என்பதற்காக இன்று சேற்றை வாரி இறைக்கும் கும்பல் இந்த குற்றச்சாட்டுகளுக்கு பதில் சொல்வார்களா? அண்ணாமலை முடிவு சரி என்பதை, நேற்றைய வானதியின் பேட்டி உறுதி செய்திருக்கிறது. Fact is TN started turning saffron right from the times of the great Atal ji and with Modi ji it skyrocketed. Reason why it has not seen in election results is because of the hold of the dravidian party infrastructure, money power, solid minority consolidation against them and lack of leadership face in BJP to stand against them. It is a misconception that TN people are strongly behind the idea of things like 2 language policy, against NEET etc. TN people are as nationalistic as any others. People of Tamil Nadu will support those who firmly oppose corruption, promote nationalism, and uphold the principles of Dharma in this land. As mentioned before, Annamalai has also started criticising the Centre too. He now heads an independent political movement, and it is fair for him to function as a responsible opposition voice -whether at the Centre or in the state. He has very clearly stated that all parties will be treated equally, including the BJP.

Multi-level oversight with direct monitoring from the Prime Minister’s office. Yes, you read it right. But these are not arrangements to buy high-level, classified, military-grade software. These are the arrangements made by the Ministry of Education for the NEET retest scheduled for 21st June 2026. Every student would appreciate the government's efforts to prevent paper leaks by implementing additional security measures and enhanced monitoring. But an increase in scrutiny before entry, extended frisking, and an increase in the overall exam time from 180 minutes to 195 minutes will only add to their already ballooning exam pressure. While the government has taken measures to contain leaks, they have forgotten the additional burden they have imposed on a young student before they take up an assessment, one that they have spent months preparing for, dissolving the entire purpose of our exam system and the NEP 2020’s goal to reduce “Exam Stress”. Despite all these arrangements for the examination, there are issues with downloading the admit cards, and NTA has assured students that it will resolve them at the earliest. Yes, there are challenges that demand meaningful solutions. However, I am concerned that the approach devised for the NEET retest may not resolve the issue; instead, it risks creating a new set of problems.

An excellent and much-needed initiative by Prison DGP Sandeep Rai Rathore and the new government. Prison personnel across Tamil Nadu had been transferred away from their hometowns to distant locations, causing significant personal and professional hardships. These challenges inevitably affected their work, and in many cases, prisoners bore the consequences. The efforts of @CMOTamilnadu and @TNPrisons_Dept in addressing this issue deserve sincere appreciation.
