She consistently attacked free speech when her side had power. So fake I don’t like the Kimmel cancellation but she is fake to pretend she cares about free speech bc it’s one way with her
In America, we defend free speech in terrible times. We defend free speech even when it’s offensive. We defend free speech.

Worth the read
I’m afraid I have some terrible news. The governor of America’s largest and richest state has just signed a law that puts 10 million children and adolescents in grave danger of medical mistreatment. The media headlines have it wrong. They claim that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s new law protects children by stopping public schools from outing their new gender to their parents. It does just the opposite. It makes children vulnerable to irreversible and lifelong medical abuse and mistreatment. And it is all based on the pseudoscientific idea that some children are born into the wrong bodies and that we can change a person’s sex through drugs and surgery. For any of this to make sense, you have to understand what’s happening in Britain. Several years ago, the government appointed a well-respected pediatrician named Hillary Cass to investigate whether it was ethical to block the puberty of children, give them opposite-sex hormones, and perform surgeries on their bodies to make them feel better about their gender. Dr. Cass came back a few weeks ago and said no, absolutely not. Around the same time, the British government banned puberty blockers nationwide. And, just a few days ago, the new Labor Party government affirmed that it would maintain the former government’s ban. In her report, Cass said that the so-called “social transition,” whereby a child adopts the identity of the opposite sex, is not a neutral act and has psychological consequences. This means it is the first step toward medical intervention. What Gavin Newsom has done is actively prevented schools from informing parents that their children have been put on a medical pathway. This is an outrageous attack on the rights of children and parents. Children have a right to go through puberty. No adult should be able to block their puberty. And parents have a right to know if their child thinks that they are the opposite sex or were born into the wrong body. We have seen with leaked internal documents of the leading gender medicine group, WPATH, that these medical interventions, namely puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery, are not only irreversible but result in sterilization and loss of sexual function. Children or adolescents are simply not mature enough to understand the effects of so-called “gender-affirming care.” They cannot, in other words, give their informed consent. The new law creates the grave risk that activist teachers, students, and outside groups will convince their children that they were born into the wrong body, and hide their “social transition” from parents, which will lead to harmful medical mistreatment. As such, the law that Newsom just signed is the opposite of what both children and their parents need. We need schools to immediately warn parents if their children think they are the opposite sex. After all, this is a diagnosable psychiatric condition known as “gender dysphoria.” And if your child has a psychiatric disorder, whether anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, or gender dysphoria, you have a right to know. And schools must stop teaching children, or allowing other people to teach children, the pseudoscientific and dehumanizing ideas that it’s possible to be born into the wrong body and possible to change one’s sex. As such, either the legislature, the courts, or a ballot initiative will be required to nullify Newsom’s law. Until then, it is important to spread the word to parents that California public schools are fundamentally unsafe for the millions of children who attend them.

Nail on head
The apparent reason Democrats have rallied around Biden is because they believe Trump poses a grave threat to democracy. But in choosing Biden, Democrats chose someone who is not actually governing as president. In this way, they have advanced an authoritarian system in which unelected bureaucrats, advisors, and lobbyists shape policy without any semblance of real democratic input. Since 2016, corporate and government functionaries have had a clear affiliation with the Democratic base of the professional bourgeoisie in opposition to Trump. This powerful alliance of elites has strongly authoritarian characteristics, attempting to eliminate all other spheres of influence, such as small businesses, religious groups, and other centers of potential populist dissent. Using tools of censorship, propaganda, and state power, the professional-managerial class has increasingly aimed to place all facets of life under its expertise and technical guidance. In this way, the progressive ideology of these elites is deeply authoritarian, as it demands the subordination of the will of the people to the rule of experts. On Covid, climate change, and social media censorship, the progressive professional bourgeoisie has determined that their ideological and political views are settled science, and that disagreement is fundamentally illogical or hateful. Only professionals, they say, hold the keys to reality, and they demand that democracy defer to “the science,” by which they mean committees of experts. There is a psychological element. Progressives have condemned Republicans as on the grip of “right-wing authoritarianism,” similar to Nazis. By contrast, argued a psychologist in 1980, left-wing authoritarianism was a “myth.” But that turned out to be wrong. Swiss psychologists recently found an almost exact overlap between dark personality traits and social justice commitment. This research suggests that progressive professionals are often entitled and narcissistic and that these tendencies are what’s behind left-wing authoritarianism. The Democrats’ embrace of racialist and hierarchical DEI ideology ultimately contributed to Biden’s downfall. “Mr. Biden was also protected, in an unexpected way, by his choice of Ms. Harris as his vice president,” observed the Times. “Many Democrats thought she lacked the political skills and presence to lead a national ticket but believed it would be hard to deny the first Black woman vice president the top spot if Mr. Biden did not run again.”

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK. This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible. After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars. WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know. As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom. Julian's freedom is our freedom. [More details to follow]

A well deserved community note.
The Biden Administration is so committed to their reckless open border policies that they are literally picking up inadmissible aliens from around the world and flying them to our country. Biden’s parole program is illegal and should be terminated right away.

And there's also plenty of things the network and newsroom can improve or do better, plenty of listeners (even ex-listeners) who engage in good faith, and plenty of room for journalism overall to be better reflective of the country. The NPR network of stations do a great job.

DC is so corrupt. They lie and say it’s in the public interest to drop these charges but the public certainly wants to know which politicians are corrupt. It’s mostly democrats but also some republicans.
Sam Bankman-Fried donated $100 million in stolen customer funds to US politicians. Today, the US Government announced they're dropping six charges against SBF and will not prosecute him for a political campaign finance violation.

Well said and happening throughout the west.
Some thoughts on the day's events, if I may: When thousands of people protested peacefully in East Wall, and in other communities across Dublin and the country, their reward was not to be recognised or engaged with for their peaceful political participation. Their reward was rather to be called far right, deplorable, and the dregs of Irish society. The thing against which they protested happened anyway. When peaceful mothers and women said, on camera, that they feared for their safety as a result of an influx of immigrant men, often into communities with no amenities for those men, their reward was to be accused of fearmongering. There are those, clutching for a gotcha, who will say something like "aha, but today's suspect/person of interest is a naturalised Irish citizen". But does it speak well of an immigration system that naturalises people capable (allegedly) of such acts? Does that inspire confidence, or does it sound like patronising nonsense? There are those who sincerely believe, apparently, that the duty of media organisations is to suppress facts, like nationality, in order to maintain public order. But if the suppression of facts is required to maintain public order, then we have many bigger problems. And we do. A huge section of people in this country feel as if they are unheard and their concerns ignored. 1,000 people marched in Rosslare at the weekend. Did you hear about it? When Danny Healy Rae raised the case of Killarney this week in the Dáil, a colleague responded with a sweary tirade of abuse. Is this democracy? When a young man, last week, linked the murder of his beloved girlfriend to Ireland's immigration policies, the media dutifully left that bit out of their coverage. Every single effort has been made to silence people. Today, they made themselves heard. I wish they had chosen another way. And then I remember: They did. And you all refused to listen.

They would be so much more successful taking Trump down with just a little honesty. Blatant corruption like this only undermines trust in the justice system. It’s political persecution
JUST IN - A New York judge ruled that Trump inflated his property values, including Mar-a-Lago, which the judge determined was worth $18-$27 million from 2011 to 2021. To put this into perspective, neighboring homes on 0.28-0.89 acres are listed for $18-40 million. Mar-a-Lago, the 20-acre property in the middle, is worth less despite being 20 to 70 times larger. @EricTrump: "The real estate circles in Florida are laughing at this foolishness." @DonaldJTrumpJr: "If Mar-a-Lago is worth $18 million… I’ll take 10 please!!!"
