Thank you to all the veterans who call UW ChemE home!
ALT The Chemical Engineering department is fortunate to have veterans among both students and staff.
While this holiday happens only once a year, our appreciation for the commitment and gratitude for the courage of our veterans persists year-round.
Kristin Bennett, ChemE undergraduate, president of WChE (Women in Chemical Engineering), chair of the Universal Design Sub-Committee for DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion) and researcher in the Nance Lab (@nance_lab) was an MM(N)2 (SW) in the US Navy aboard the USS Carl Vinson. Kristin’s can-do attitude and willingness to advocate for social and institutional progress speaks volumes about the quality of her character and the virtues she represents.
We are lucky to count such exemplars of perseverance, integrity and ingenuity in the ranks of ChemE.
Thank you for your service, Kristin and all the veterans who call UW ChemE home!
