•Khobar Towers (1996): The FBI determined Iran was directly responsible for a massive truck bomb in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 American airmen.
•Recent Proxy Attacks: Iran-backed militias have continued to target U.S. troops in the Middle East, including a drone strike in Jordan that killed three U.S. soldiers

•1996 Khobar Towers Bombing: Carried out by Hezbollah with ties to the IRGC, a massive truck bomb detonated at an American military housing complex in Saudi Arabia, injuring 500 U.S. Air Force personnel.
•2007 Karbala Attack:
Quds Force-affiliated militants raided a U.S. military coordination center in Iraq, killing five and wounding three U.S. soldiers.
•2020 Ain al-Asad Strike:
A direct Iranian ballistic missile attack on the U.S. airbase in Iraq resulted in traumatic brain injuries for over 100 U.S. troops.
•2023-2024 Proxy Engagements: Iran-backed militias conducted over 180 attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East during this period, wounding more than 180 U.S. service members.
•2024 Tower 22 Attack:
A drone strike by Kataib Hezbollah in Jordan wounded over 40 American troops

At least 10-15 U.S. troops have sustained serious, severe injuries requiring the highest levels of medical care.
