Sending 1,000 emails is actually lazier than sending 10
People hide behind "volume" because itās a measurable metric that makes them feel productive
Itās easy to hit "send" on a sequence of 1,000 people and blame the "market" when nobody replies
Itās much harder to pick 10 people you actually want to work with and write something so specific that they can't believe a stranger sent it
Volume is a shield against rejection
If you send 1,000 and get 0 replies, you blame the tool
If you send 10 and get 0 replies, you have to face the fact that your ideas might not be that good
Scale is for when youāve already won
Until then, do the things that don't scale
It's the only way to find out if you actually have something worth saying
