Mankachar,Meghalaya - A tense situation developed along the India-Bangladesh international border at Nandir Char in Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, after an alleged Bangladeshi national was left stranded between the two countries.According to sources, the man had illegally entered Indian territory and was detained by the Border Security Force (BSF). During a routine pushback operation, the BSF attempted to send him back to Bangladesh. However, Bangladesh’s Border Guard (BGB) and local residents on the other side allegedly refused to accept him, leaving the individual stranded near the border fencing. The man reportedly identified himself as a Bangladeshi citizen, but authorities and locals from the Bangladesh side declined to take custody, leading to confusion and heightened tensions in the area. As news of the standoff spread, hundreds of people gathered on both sides of the border. Reports indicate incidents of stone-pelting across the fencing, further aggravating the situation.
