The problem today is the Democrat and Republican parties.
They are evil.
They have institutionalized corruption. Pro military-industrial complex, pro military expansion, pro war neocons in both parties, pro big pharma, pro keeping more people in jail than any other country by # and %, pro big business and Wall Street at the expense of normal businesses, citizens, and consumers. Pro huge deficits. Pro wasting our money in a variety of ways. Anti fiscal responsibility and balancing budgets. Pro bureaucracy. Pro more taxes. Pro the state leviathan. Anti individual rights and freedom. Pro more laws and lawsuits. Anti compromise. Anti efficiency. Anti solving problems. Pro bandaid solutions and completely allergic to long term strategic thinking and solutions.
They gerrymander districts all over the country so they aren’t competitive and they can get in party extremists who won’t compromise and can’t be ousted.
They prioritize fund raising and pleasing their donors - not their constituents- over all else… other than themselves and their careers.
They make you think you have a choice on some random shit like abortion when on 95% of these other issues, it literally doesn’t matter which one you pick. And when you do get the one you thought you wanted they change almost nothing of the few issues you thought you were selecting for.
Even worse now they are just flaunting not giving a flying fuck by literally running back Biden vs Trump who are super senior citizens both suffering from varying levels of mental degeneration.
If you’re trying to justify Biden or Trump as octogenarian presidents, and yes even in order to keep out the other side’s guy…
Then guess what?
You’re part of the problem not the solution.
The system is completely broken.
A very fitting quote is from Game of Thrones, by Daenerys, I’m adapting it for this tweet:
“Republican, Democrat, Biden, Trump, Clinton, Bush… they’re all just spokes on a wheel. This one’s on top, then that one’s on top, and on it on it spins, crushing those on the ground.”
“It’s a beautiful dream, stopping the wheel… you’re not the first person who’s ever dreamt it.”
“I’m not going to stop the wheel. I’m going to break the wheel.”
We shouldn’t want to stop the wheel, we should want to break the wheel.
In this election, in my opinion, that’s not voting for either one. Get in someone who is not a Republican or a Democrat.
Scare the parties and make them change. If you think you can do this through amendments or whatever, you’re delusional. The system has already been gamed fam. It’s through the vote, all we have left. Stop playing this divisive game where you hate the other side.
Fuck sides.
We are all losing in that game. Literal definition of the prisoners dilemma.
