To everyone new: I am not just all about tech. I post a lot of food, photos, politics, memes, and things I find funny, ironic, or just plain stupid. I bring all of me in everything I do, including posting on this hellsite. Sorry (kinda) in advance.
Amazing if four months of war comes to an end with J.D. Vance getting an email "Please DocuSign these documents: IranUSA_MOU_Final_FINAL_ActuallyFinal_V43"
Pakistani officials saying that the Iran-US agreement MOU will be signed electrically tomorrow. Araghchi implied this was the case in a lengthy interview for Iran state TV yesterday.
This suggests that there will be no in-person component (though it's possible something comes after the signing).
Technical discussions will commence shortly thereafter.
Andreesen is the worst kind of libertarian, the one who believes only he should be exempt from the rules
If the president personally banned his company's newest product with 0 warning, he'd throw the biggest hissy fit in history, but he cheers it on when it happens to others
the correct response is: "I hate this and it is an enormous accelerator to the collapse of society as we know it thanks to wealth disparities that are actively horrific"

First the web got flooded machines writing for humans. Now the machines are writing for machines.
Welcome to the era of ~sloptimization.~
My latest for @TheAtlantic:
Feels like 90% of AI bros are just NFT bros who rebranded overnight. It's like the same crypto-hype playbook, now pointed at AI.
Like I watched one guy swear his fork inspired a Fortune 100 company to build a security tool. His big proof was a screenshot of a compliment he solicited on social media.
The catch is that the person he solicited had zero direct connection to the actual creation of the tool. AI bro never checked, never asked, and apparently never looked at the wide-open GitHub contributors list.
If these AI bros skip their easy homework, how thorough are they with the code they're publishing?
Ted Cruz on Talarico: "If you were making a list of 1,000 adjectives to describe this guy, 'masculine' would not be one of them. I mean, if a stiff breeze came by it would blow him over like a feather."
Trump has a meltdown and ends the interview
Welker: Just to be very clear, there's no evidence of what you're saying.
Trump: There’s a lot of evidence. There’s tremendous evidence. There’s nothing but evidence. The election was rigged. And it’s happening again in California. They’re cheating.
Welker: Do you have evidence?
Trump: All I have to do is look.
Welker: That’s not evidence. The local officials acknowledge they are slow
Trump: They’re crooked. Just like you’re crooked. You’re either crooked or stupid.
It’s really incredible the absolute AI GARBAGE that people are comfortable sending to their coworkers and bosses
There’s a good chance productivity will actually *decrease* as AI adoption increases because everyone is busy wading through AI slop
Autocorrect has been confidently wrong since 2007. The only thing that changed is now we call it AI, charge $20/month for it, and then act surprised the public has zero patience for a machine that's never once apologized for "ducking."
