hot take: you dont need to be a software engineer to make good money in tech
i think people chase the engineering title because it sounds impressive to other people
there is a whole slew of other roles in tech that pay well

Whenever I can, I tell folks in tech to use unconventional methods to secure roles.
Save up for that electronic music event, a recruiter/eng manager/CTO is probably touching grass there!
In these environments you’ve already passed the “cool person to work with” test.
