Ginkgo was thrilled to host Captain James Coburn of ARPA-H for a tour of our autonomous lab. The tour marked the start of Year 2 of our WHEAT program, which is working to secure our medical supply chain by replacing the overseas factory production of pharmaceutical ingredients with literal homegrown production – using the hardworking biology inside agricultural wheat. This is real science running on top of a real autonomous lab. Ginkgo CEO, Jason Kelly, showed Captain James Coburn the robots behind this science and explained the hardware that makes this work possible, including specialized vacuums and resealable covers that keep our processes sterile.  Tours are open: hubs.la/Q04kd8bt0

Excited to integrate @Ginkgo Cloud Lab into Microsoft Discovery! Assuming the frontier model companies let us ask questions about biology🙃 then will need easy interfaces to ordering lab work -- awesome to be building that w/ the team at @Microsoft! techcommunity.microsoft.com/…

Boston is home to Ginkgo and the American biotech industry. Today, our CEO @jrkelly wrote in @BostonGlobe @GlobeOpinion about why that field is under threat — and what policymakers and industry leaders can do to protect it. His proposal: Add biotech to the COINS Act and pair it with an affirmative agenda to keep Massachusetts and the U.S. the best place in the world to discover, test, manufacture, and scale new medicines and biotechnologies.  Read his op-ed here: hubs.la/Q04kzpNd0

Especially important for Massachusetts to get biotech added to the COINS Act list of strategic technologies by supporting the bipartisan Biotech Investment National Security Act (BINSA) act proposed by @RepDebDingell and @RepMoolenaar ! Great opportunity for our Congresspeople and Senators to keep jobs onshore in one of MA’s biggest industries ! @JakeAuch @sethmoulton @SenWarren @SenMarkey @AyannaPressley @RepMcGovern @WhipKClark @RepLoriTrahan @RepRichardNeal @USRepKeating @RepStephenLynch Op-Ed in Globe linked below 👇

Yes 💯 I cold emailed Sam after his blog post about hard tech in 2014 and he replied in 5 minutes and told me to fly out and meet him in SF. One meeting and I knew we had to do @ycombinator@sama was very unique in Silicon Valley at that time believing in hard tech companies like @ginkgo. He really had conviction on changing the world w real tech, we’re lucky to have him in US.
Sam Altman deserves credit for YC's turn toward hard tech. When he became CEO in 2014 he went out and recruited companies doing stuff like airliners and fusion, and hard tech startups have been some of the best in every batch since.

Check out our autonomous lab, Nebula, in photos by @NPR (hubs.la/Q04kk-0y0)! Our co-founders @reshmapshetty and @jrkelly recently gave the NPR team a tour of Ginkgo’s 100 RACs and shared how we’re moving biology off the lab bench.  “Using robotics and AI, Kelly and his co-founders say that they are building the science labs of the future — where human scientists oversee robotic versions of themselves.” Read the full story 👇  hubs.la/Q04kk_BG0

Cell-free gives you the fast screen. E. coli gives you the yield. This week, we're launching E. coli Minibinder Expression with His-tag Purification and Yield via A280 on Ginkgo's Cloud Lab — living-cell expression for when you're past the screen and ready for material. Submit your amino acid sequences or linear DNA templates. We express His-tagged minibinders in E. coli, purify on His-tag magnetic beads, and report A280 yield per well — up to 96 constructs in parallel. Two routes, one platform: screen your designs fast in cell-free, then express the winners at higher yield in E. coli. Transparent pricing at $199/sample, with full visibility into every step and instrument — same as every Cloud Lab protocol. Submit your minibinder designs here: cloud.ginkgo.bio/protocols/e…

Thrilled to launch our new ADME-One service at @Ginkgo with our partners @inductive_bio and Tangible Scientific! Amazing price point at $199 -- this is what AI autonomous labs will enable in biopharma CRO services. ADME-One delivers a high-throughput Tier 1 ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) panel paired with best-in-class AI-powered human pharmacokinetic (PK) projection and fully integrated compound management. * Ginkgo Datapoints: Data Generation. All five Tier 1 assays (microsomal stability, cell permeability, kinetic solubility, CYP inhibition, and plasma protein binding) are executed end-to-end in Ginkgo's automated laboratory in Boston. Validated, standardized workflows produce AI-ready data without the variability of manual handling. * Inductive Bio: AI-Driven Contextualization. Inductive Bio's Compass platform turns the experimental panel into actionable human PK projections, integrating disparate individual ADME datapoints into a single multiparameter optimization endpoint that guides compound prioritization. The company's ADMET models are independently validated as best-in-class, having recently won both the 2025 ASAP and 2026 ExpansionRx OpenADMET blind prediction challenges, two of the most rigorous public benchmarks in the field. * Tangible Scientific: Compound Management. Customers submit compounds and receive results. Tangible handles compound intake, plating, real-time tracking, and management for every ADME-One order, eliminating the logistics overhead that typically accompanies outsourced ADME work.
