When a federal judge blocked changes to the ACIP committee and threw the panel into disarray, @ICANdecide lead attorney @AaronSiriSG sent a letter to Secretary Kennedy the same week urging him to amend the charter directly. He did it within days. The changes to the new charter are significant. The old version limited membership to experts in vaccination and vaccination policy. The new version opens the door to toxicologists, pediatric neurodevelopment specialists, and experts in recovery from serious vaccine injuries. The word safety now appears significantly more times than in the original charter, and the new language explicitly calls for examining gaps in vaccine safety research and adverse effects following vaccination. Most people assumed that kind of expertise was already in the room. It wasn't. And now that it is being added, the committee that recommends vaccines for every child in America will look fundamentally different at its next meeting. All eyes are on what comes next.
