If an elephant has to suffer so humans can get selfies and social media content, it is not conservationβ€”it is exploitation. Wildlife belongs in the wild, not in tourist entertainment businesses. #ElephantRights #Srilanka

While Guillermina relaxed in the shade with a hay snack, Maia and Bambi spent time splashing at the water trough. Eventually, the older girls sought out their younger friend and joined her in the shade. Read more: ow.ly/LCUY50Z9Ze3

Your donations don’t just help elephants. They rescue, treat and save any wild animal in need of help. This speared giraffe in remote Tsavo was spotted by our aerial team on patrol. We flew a KWS vet to the scene in our helicopter, who carefully removed the spear gave the patient lifesaving veterinary care on the ground. Reticulated giraffe numbers have fallen by around 50% in three decades. Every individual saved counts for the future of the species. See more from our field teams: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/g…

This man repeatedly HIT & YANKED the horse who collapsed in NYC. This isn't an isolated incident. It will only end when everyone STOPS using horses as transportation 😑

Mara (front) and Rana (back) were headed out into the habitat when they both decided to take a pause to graze a little and relax a lot. Their stillness reflects their comfort with each other, as does their relaxed nature and closeness.

Please retweet this. Animal abuse. No other word. I watch @FreeBunka inside this shithole of a barn. He smashes at the door than hammers at his closed hay feeder. I watch him do this route 20 times. @YerevanZoo @bornfree @rickygervais @PeterEgan6 @AlexColeFCDO @AvinyanTigran

Bunka the elephant is DYING from cruelty at Yerevan Zoo (Armenia). 7 years alone in a concrete barn, 17 hours/day. Foot abscesses, inflamed eyes, depression (walking in circles). This violates international zoo guidelines! HELP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. πŸ˜πŸ’”

In their coverage of Happy's passing last week, we were glad to see @SmithsonianMag note the two historic, powerful dissents from the NY Court of Appeals judges in our case on behalf of Happy's right to liberty. Read the coverage: bit.ly/4uIG5ro

Family reunion, elephant style. Three ex-orphans came home to our Voi stockades in January, each with a wild-born calf (or two!) alongside her. Edie. Mweya. Arruba. All rescued from Tsavo years ago, all now mothers, raising families of their own in the wild. But like kids who've flown the nest, they're still popping round to raid the fridge and sneak in some childcare. Our elephant family tree has plenty of branches these days.
