Another amazing Brazilian scientist, Dr. Mariangela Hungria, a microbiologist at Embrapa's soybean research center, spent decades studying bacteria that pull nitrogen from the air and feed it to plants. The result: Brazil went from importing nitrogen fertilizer to becoming the world's largest soybean exporter — using microbes instead of chemicals. Her work won the 2025 World Food Prize. But the real prize is the 40% reduction in synthetic fertilizer use across Brazilian agriculture. This isn't just about soybeans. It's about a different model of agriculture: partner with biology instead of dominating it. The Global South has something to teach the world here

I’ve never argued with an AI like I've argued with a person. That's why I love working on products with people. Arguments, disagreements, debates, different points of view backed up by emotion, conviction, and stubborn perseverance... these are all bits of grit that make the polish, that make the product. Some of my favorite moments with @dhh are the ones where we disagree the most. What comes out of these sessions is not bitterness but betterment. Better vision, better ideas, better products. The fight is right. Humans do friction better than anything. Friction does polish better than anything. AI helps you build what humans help you make. ❤️ humans.

Here's my conversation with Peter Steinberger (@steipete), creator of OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent that has taken the Internet by storm, with now over 180,000 stars on GitHub. This was a truly mind-blowing, inspiring, and fun conversation! It's here on X in full and is up everywhere else (see comment). Autonomous agents are an entirely new category of users to build for, and, increasingly, to sell to. Today, we’re launching (a preview) of machine payments on @stripe—a way for developers to directly charge agents, with a few lines of code. 🤖💸 $ Let’s start tinkering… ⤵️

I agree with this bit of flag logic. Canada should seasonally adjust its flag.

When you put human beings into a sensory deprivation tank, they start hallucinating. What happens if you take AI models out of their sensory deprivation tanks?

Holy shit, this story about how Boeing's stock-price obsessed CEO and manager class hollowed out the hard-won and rigorous expertise the company was known for. They just took it apart. Plane safety was something we could take for granted, for a long time. prospect.org/infrastructure/…

They replaced management with ineptitude. Most of what we needed to know to battle COVID we knew by April 2020. Instead, Western govs missed the exponential growth of the virus. They missed that it was a pandemic, and declared its existence so late.
