Thema braucht Dialog.

Gebt Gas, liebe Journalisten!

German Medical Association (BÄK) and Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) are closing the German Agency for Quality in Medicine (ÄZQ), coordinator of ind. quality guidelines. Many guidelines here are poor. This will worsen the situation. Very sad for EBM. 🤞for a solution.

Gosh. Seems to be a recurring theme in my timeline. Germany’s education system certainly has its problem (and is unfortunately being politically neglected), but at least studying is mostly free.

Went to doc this morning for a sprained ankle from a run. Nothing torn 🍀. What I don’t get is how low the threshold for heparin is. Even considering it for minor immobility for a few days seems crazy. My baseline risk must be <0.001%. Next we use it on long haul flights?

Last chance to participate in our survey on data extraction in systematic reviews!⏳ This follows two previous projects: bit.ly/3G047Gz and bit.ly/3BMbbFc. It will help to understand current practice and research needs. Thanks a ton and happy holiday!👇🏼
You can still take part in our #methods survey and share your views on #dataextraction in #evidencesynthesis, #HTA, #metaanalysis! It takes 15 minutes. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far!🙏 limesurvey.uni-wh.de/index.p… Our fact sheet explains why the topic is important.

Three principles of #EbM according to @GuyattGH’s users’ guide: 1) Systematically review best available evidence. 2) Assess trustworthiness of evidence. 3) Apply to practice taking into account values, costs, context etc.

#systematicreviews should reflect these principles: 1) Collect evidence systematically 2) Provide info on QoE 3) Provide information that allows transfer to practice

An important yet often neglected foundation for this: preparing, piloting and performing data extraction! Help us better understand current practice and tells us about your priorities for research👇 Thank you! 🙏
#systematicreviews ought to inform practice e.g. via #guidelines. Yet many lack information needed for #implementation. Better methods of #dataextraction could improve reporting. What do you think? Let us know by taking part in our 15-minute survey! limesurvey.uni-wh.de/index.p…
