Massive Warehouse Fire Engulfs Med Line Medical Supply Distribution Center in #Tracy California A massive fire tore through a large medical supply warehouse Thursday afternoon in Tracy, sending a towering column of thick black smoke visible for miles across the Central Valley and Bay Area. The fire broke out shortly before 2pm at the Medline distribution facility located in the 5700 block of Promontory Parkway. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions on the roof of the approximately one million square foot warehouse, with flames rapidly spreading throughout the structure. High winds, hot temperatures, and low humidity contributed to the fire’s rapid growth. Multiple agencies responded to the scene as the blaze threatened nearby commercial buildings, including a FedEx facility. Embers sparked several spot fires in the surrounding area, prompting evacuations and road closures while crews worked to prevent further spread. Authorities confirmed that all employees at the facility were safely accounted for and no injuries had been reported as of Thursday evening. Firefighters faced significant challenges due to the size of the building and difficult weather conditions. Residents were urged to avoid the area and remain indoors if affected by smoke. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. For licensing contact newsdesk@royolnews.com

Today, we remember a legend. On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation’s timeline. Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. Ten years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme. He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the internet bringing millions of people together for one cause: never forgetting Harambe. Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on. Gone, but never forgotten. Rest easy to a true patriot. 🕊️🇺🇸 May 27, 1999 — May 28, 2016 Forever in our hearts.

#sandyfire Jumps Containment And Burns Over Runkle Canyon Neighborhood In Simi Valley Simi Valley, Calif. (May 19, 2026 4:30pm) A fast moving wildfire dubbed the Sandy Fire exploded across rugged hills in southern Simi Valley on Monday, rapidly growing to nearly 1,700 acres and forcing thousands of residents from their homes. The blaze, which ignited Monday morning off Sandy Avenue near Sequoia Avenue, was driven by strong winds through dry brush. The flames came up behind the homes from the wash below and jumped across the top of Sequoia Avenue and directly threatening homes in the area, prompting urgent structure protection efforts along Redwood Grove Court and nearby neighborhoods. The embercasting from the fire caught the hill behind the homes on fire which quickly spread. Dozers were dropped in and started clearing additional brush and kept it from reaching any other homes. As of Tuesday, the fire had burned 1,698 acres and was only 5% contained, according to Cal Fire and Ventura County officials. At least one home was destroyed, with additional structures threatened or damaged. Mandatory evacuation orders remained in place for large portions of southern Simi Valley and surrounding areas, affecting more than 30,000 people. Evacuation warnings extended into parts of Los Angeles County, including Chatsworth and West Hills. Schools in the Simi Valley Unified School District were closed. Hundreds of firefighters, supported by helicopters and air tankers, worked through the night and into Tuesday to contain the blaze and protect homes. Winds eased somewhat overnight but remained a concern. Residents were urged to stay vigilant and follow official updates from Ventura County Emergency Management. Shelters were established for evacuees and their animals. Also check @watchdutyapp for updates! Google Maps Satellite Imagery of Palisades Fire Area Reverts to Pre-Disaster Views Amid Mayoral Race Scrutiny Pacific Palisades, CA Residents and observers are raising questions after Google Maps satellite imagery of areas devastated by the January 2025 Palisades Fire appears to have reverted to pre fire conditions, more than 16 months after the blaze. The Palisades Fire, which erupted on January 7, 2025, in the Santa Monica Mountains, became one of the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles history. The fire burned over 23,000 acres, destroyed thousands of structures across Pacific Palisades, Topanga, and Malibu, and claimed multiple lives. Eyewitnesses and official reports confirmed widespread devastation, with satellite and aerial imagery shortly after the fire clearly showing scorched landscapes and leveled homes. Google reportedly updated its satellite layer multiple times in the following months to reflect the damage. However, if you check now, recent imagery in many affected neighborhoods has reverted to older, pre-January 2025 views. Homes that burned are shown as intact, and the visible burn scar has diminished or disappeared in places. I personally watched dozens and dozens of homes burn during the fire. It’s pretty odd that the images would revert back to 2025 images to make it look undamaged. So many people don’t realize the magnitude of the size of the fire and now can’t see how much of the city burned. If you don’t believe me, check it out for yourself! The screen recording was shot today at 6:08pm 5-15-26 The coinciding with the 2026 Los Angeles mayoral race. Challengers, including reality TV star Spencer Pratt, whose own home was destroyed in the fire have prominently criticized the delayed response of city officials, pointing to issues like resource management, preparedness, and recovery efforts. The discrepancy in widely used mapping tools has left some survivors feeling the scale of their loss is being visually minimized at a sensitive time. Woman Found Inside Trash Truck In Los Angeles A routine trash pickup took a shocking turn Wednesday afternoon in Canoga Park when a woman was discovered inside a garbage truck. At approximately 2:10pm on February 11, 2026, a trash truck driver was servicing dumpsters along his route in the alley of the 7200 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. According to the driver, he inspected a dumpster before emptying it into his truck, confirming it appeared to contain only trash. After dumping the contents into the truck, the driver paused before activating the truck’s compactor, a decision that likely prevented serious injury. Moments later, he looked up and saw a woman standing on top of the pile of trash inside the truck. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene as a technical rescue. Firefighters worked to safely remove the woman from the truck. During the incident, the woman placed a bucket over her head and later threw it down, nearly striking a firefighter below. Crews were able to assist her down from the truck without injury. However, before paramedics could conduct a medical evaluation, the woman ran off into a nearby alley. It remains unclear how long she had been inside the dumpster prior to pickup or what circumstances led to the incident. See more local news on royolnews.com #royolnews #lafd #canogapark #losangeles
