Why we need professional journalists: @JDVance rep tells @wsj about Anna Kilgore, a Springfield OH woman whose cat went missing in August, so @Kris_Maher drives to her house. She found the cat in her basement and apologized to her Haitian neighbors.
I addressed it and prayed for Trump and those grieving the loss of life, as I would have if it were Biden or anyone else. I resent the suggestion that a pastor who didn’t choose to mention is somehow an apostate coward or less than faithful. This spiritual battle isn’t new.(1/2)
If your pastor did not address the assassination attempt in today's service, you need to find another church. There is tremendous spiritual warfare being waged in this country. This is no time for limp-wristed wokevangelicals.
The Putin regime murders political dissidents, slaughters Ukrainian children, holds hostage Russian orphans hostage, and persecutes religious minorities (including evangelical Christians).
Christians, above all people, ought to recognize how anti-Christ all that is.
Pastors,
no Christless sermons, no comedy shows, no therapeutic deism, no political idolatry. Get in that pulpit, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and preach endless treasures available in Christ Jesus!
One of your primary jobs as a leader is the removal of ambiguity. This will put you in a position where you feel like you're often:
1) Repeating yourself
2) Stating the obvious
3) Asking stupid questions
4) Relaying messages
5) Verifying claims
It doesn't matter. Keep doing it.
Since @TuckerCarlson called me a “breastfeeding Christian” last night on his show, a good reminder for me to add this to my devotional time this morning:
The progressive Christian left sounds soooo much like the fundamentalist right I grew up in. Different values; same posture, tone, and passion to demonize the “other.”

I'm a Christian parent and my kids go to public school, one attending a "state university". I'm grateful for the coaches, teachers and administrators who have taught them, poured into them and some even praying for our kids. We wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm even grateful for the teachers who didn't teach/lead the way we would have chosen, it gives us an opportunity to teach and our kids an opportunity to live out a real faith in real life context. We don't become who God wants us to be by withdrawing from the world. 2/2
Confession: I used to think that I was more biblically and doctrinally sound than most people. Now I see other people like that who feel it’s their mission in life to impose their doctrinal ‘rightness’ on everyone else and it grieves me. If God is so mysterious and so unlike us,
Best way not to become a grouchy old person is not to become a grouchy young person. Or middle-age person. For instance, we Jesus-followers might be more effective at sharing the good news if we weren’t in such a bad mood half the time. Grinch, heal thyself. It’s Christmastime.
