You look like this, I'm not saying hello to you and I'm placing myself between you and my family.
One thing I will say about the boomers is that they're certainly friendlier than young folks seem to be.
For example, we're now staying at a motel in the mountains. I'm sitting in the lawn having a beer. New guest pull up -- a young couple. They pass by with no hello, no hi, no greeting at all!
But if that couple had been 60 they'd have said "howdy doody! where ya from!? great weather today eh?" and we might've even had a beer together, gone to dinner, whatever.
It's the young people who get to the motel room, shut the blinds, lock the door, and avoid all the "stranger danger."
Makes me sad to think that once the boomers die, the era of public congeniality is probably just about over.
