Going to hide behind Charles moderation skirts is not the answer. This is crypto. Be your own bank. Not your keys, not your crypto. When did we shift responsibility from self-moderation and control to asking Daddy to take care of it for us? Don't like the troll accounts? Block them and move on with your day. Every discord/forum/controlled point of conversation is littered with people who got banned/silenced/booted or otherwise moderated as soon as they said something that the moderation team found unacceptable. Shouldn't it be on us to decide which voices and channels we listen to or silence/mute? If moving to discord is the right place for Charles to interact because he needs that safe space for himself. Great. It's disingenuous to suggest that will be/is the "home" of the Cardano community and is the only place that "governance" and other discussions are allowed to happen under the threat of moderation. The Cardano community exists across the spectrum; there are already hundreds of Discords, Telegram, WhatsApp, Forums, YouTube, local and regional channels where people choose where to go to find and discuss information relative to Cardano.

As one of the official interim-CEOs of Cardano today, I have some announcements to make. - The SPO call was full today with good participation. Everyone is preparing for the Van Rossem hardfork. SPOs are upgrading to 11.0.1 release to ensure they are ready. - I have had 3 meetings with development teams and all are still building. - I'm personally working on a demo wallet for @Shield_USD on Midnight. The guts are working and I'm on to the fun part of the UX. @iamwilco has some amazing designer skills.

Cardano DReps - Post Quantum safety is high priority - must have technology. Cardano needs to advance from currently Tier 2 PQ to Tier 1 PQ safe. Only 4 days left to vote on this proposal, needs CC votes too: Cardano Vision 2026: Human Centred, Scalable, Post Quantum Secure.

The market (and current DRep levels of support for business development and marketing) certainly will purge them. Your response suggests you've never been to an IRL business event for the purpose of conducting business. More fruitful connections come from 15m in person than you will ever receive from dozens of hours in a zoom call. This attitude will leave us surrounded by a technological cathedral built in the middle of an inhospitable desert with no roads leading to it. Sure, there will be the occasional urban explorer who makes the trek for engagement and curiosity, but the majority of people will drive on by, never realizing why there's even an off ramp out here in the middle of nowhere.

TBH, IDK. If I was sitting on $100M USD worth of reserves I certainly wouldn't be asking the community to foot the bill at bear market lows, even if the event truly cost $2M , particularly not if I thought it would legitimately pump all our bags. Maybe a Treasury withdrawal to support sponsoring the builders and dApps to attend said event

Idea for @Cardano_CF: I'm hearing/seeing that you already paid deposits on your space for the dates and times you told us the summit would be held, this year, in Singapore, around the time of Token 2049 (Oct 5-6 iirc). Do it. Charge for booths, get sponsors, charge for tickets. Provide sufficient proof of both spend, attendance, sponsorship, and at least some outcomes... Then ask us to reimburse you the difference. If a $1M USD/day event is truly worth it, then surely you are well capitalized enough to prove it to the community and get reimbursed on the backside, just like all FEs ask people attending conferences and events on their behalf to pay for their own airfare, hotels, and lodging and get reimbursed afterwards.

I am seeing shameful personal attacks from both sides of the governance debate. Mud slinging is a tactic as old as politics but we need to endeavor to do better. Westerners invoking Japanese culture and customs that they learned from an anime to "bully and harass" members of the Japanese DRep community are the worst. (Note: I'm not talking about Charles here, who was respectful in his message even if some interpreted it negatively) Be better. The sky isn't falling one way or another. We must be able to disagree without being disagreeable. We must be able to discuss ideas without resulting in personal attacks. To the entire Japanese Cardano community, I am sorry you have been placed at the center of this. I've always known you to be respectful, patient, and fully supportive of Cardano's mission through the years. A fledgling government system is rough, but we will get through it together.
