Apparently the Sunak government is not remotely bound by the decisions of the Truss government. Hence the sacked Braverman returns six days later. So how about King Charles now goes to COP. Be good if the world saw a UK leader who cared about the environment.

Very seldom does a good thing happen in public life by accident. Bad things can happen spontaneously. Good things must be fought for, every step of the way. Yet we appear determined to leave all the most important issues - above all the fate of the living planet - to chance.

Total and utter irresponsibility. A wealthy man mo doubt thinks he will be able to buy his kids out of the climate crisis and so f**k the rest of us

The UK still holds the Presidency of the COP. This is just terrifying. What the hell is going on? Does he not understand what climate change entails? Does anyone have any insight on Sunak in this context? This is why an election is so necessary. #ElectionNow

How is a wilful, deliberate, & repeated breach of the Ministerial Code a ‘mistake’ ? She knew exactly what she was doing. Who’s WRITING this Government’s material?

Today The Climate Book is finally released in many parts of the world! I want to use my platform to share the reality of the climate crisis – to communicate a holistic picture of how the world is changing and what we need to do about it. That is why I created this book. 1/4

during a talk show segment about the right way to protest a dutch activist glued himself to a table, called the media out for failing to report honestly on climate and ecology, and then during the commercial got carried off by security, still on the table x.com/AlexanderNL/status/158…

Not “so called” Statistics published yesterday showed 85% claimants found to be genuine refugees Only drawback .. just 4% of claims processed for last year Which means ongoing costs until you clear the backlog

Here is Suella Braverman… Telling us that paying a Brexit divorce bill to the EU was “project fear” In July, Govt’s own estimate put the divorce bill at £42.5bn One HELL of an error …or lie And yet, she’s been appointed as Home Secretary AGAIN

This is quite shocking. Emissions projections out yesterday show the UK will: 🔴Overshoot our 2030 Paris agreement emissions commitment by 40% 🔴Blow our 6th carbon budget by a huge 100% The UK needs an overarching strategy to keep to 1.5°C: Climate & Ecology Bill #CEBill.

Shell made £90million a day in profits during the last quarter. Fortunately we don’t need to take any of it in tax because we can just cut public services instead.

Big week for Suella Braverman as she tries to restore confidence in the Home Office after multiple breaches of the ministerial code by former home secretary, Suella Braverman.

The reappointment by Rishi Sunak, an entirely unelected Prime Minister, of Suella Braverman as Home Secretary less than a week after she was forced to resign for breaking the rules, is one of the most abject moments in British political history.

A typical nurse would have to work “over 20,000 years” in order to match Sunak’s vast wealth. "Rather than announce a new wave of cuts and #austerity, wouldn’t it be fairer for the prime minister to introduce wealth taxes on the very richest in our society?" - Richard Burgon.
