Looooove @noahlearner talking about his dream to be on the #MozCon stage. I had the same journey (also similarly hungover) at #CTAConf! If you're reading this and want to make the jump to keynote, check out @shinebootcamp β€οΈπŸŽ™

... and generally still feel like I'm about to barf. Third.. yes, someone has talked about your topic before. But they ARE NOT YOU. Your unique perspective is what it takes. Fourth, hang out with either @Kirsty_Hulse in her Confidence Now program or @shinebootcamp. (2/?)

I’ve lived in Austin for almost a decade & have attended SXSW for several years…and I never in a million years thought I’d get my own stage at the world’s biggest tech conference. But it happened. And it was glorious. #justgettinstarted

as you do your cute little threads today, don't forget to celebrate... - disabled women - trans women - gay women - Black women - Brown women ...remember and that femme-"looking" nonbinary people are not women (unless they specifically identify as such)

A lot of events conference organizers could learn a thing or 2 from @areej_abuali #WTSFest about accessibility inclusivity

Not just automated captions but actual human subtitles πŸ’™ Accessibility should NOT be an afterthought in events. All our recordings will include subtitles. #WTSFest

I love how @areej_abuali has thought of every single detail to make this event accessible – as someone whose mother tongue is not English, subtitles allow me to fully focus on the topic (@aleyda on SEO reporting) instead of trying to catch every single word #WTSFest

Got invited to speak in a conference today. Here's my reply, similar to most replies I initially send out when invited to speak. Got an extremely detailed response on both points, my respect to the organiser. Hope this is helpful to others πŸ™ŒπŸ½

A great reminder that allyship is not an achievement you unlock but rather a journey with many challenges, wrong-turns revelations
Replying to @amandanat
Honest answer: I used to not notice. 2003-2009 I barely even thought about DEI or representation. But now, total 180Β°. I'm usually one of the first folks events try to get on their roster, so can ask point blank about their DEI goals, then help by making suggestions & intros.
