Excited to present grad student Yongxu Zhang’s work at #NeurIPS2024, on the inference of switching recurrent neural networks (SRNNs) directly from neural data. The inferred neural discrete states match behavior, and the dynamics help us predict forward in time. Come say hi @4.30!

Excited to have this out in the world :)
Goal-driven models in neuroscience usually specify the ‘right’ inputs and outputs for neural networks. We go one step further: we look at motor pathways as a controller for limb dynamics. This helps our models generalize much better!
