A few things happening at once that people should connect.
Russia is now linked to the arson attacks on the Prime Minister's house and car last year. Shocker.
And we all saw what happened the moment that story broke. Our feeds flooded with a different story about who the men were and why they did it.
That's the operation. The arson is one half. The disinformation campaign is the other.
Flood the zone, muddy the water, get the country shouting at itself instead of asking who is behind it.
And at the same time, a chunk of the accounts pushing Scottish independence on X went dark the night Israel hit Iran's nuclear sites.
Ask yourself why. Why would hostile states be interested in sowing division across the country?
This is exactly what I mean when I say defence is the thread underneath everything now.
Again, it isn't tanks on a border. It's an arson attack on the PM's front door and state-sponsored disinformation campaigns in the replies. It's the argument about breaking up our country being run out of Tehran.
This is why resilience matters. And it's bigger than just factchecking a tweet. It's energy we can rely on. Industry we actually own. Institutions that are rock solid. Communities that don't split and fracture the moment someone pushes them. A country that is built to take a punch.
That's the job now.

Yesterday the BoD acting President, Adrian Cohen, released a statement claiming that event organisers had 'refuted claims that the event is marketing real estate over the Green Line' and then made out that those protesting the event were motivated by a mixture of false pretence and Jew hate.
Today we have evidence proving beyond any doubt that brochures for West Bank settlements were handed out and properties in the illegal settlements of Ma’ale Adumim and Givat Ze’ev in the occupied West Bank, as well as Ramat Eshkol and Givat HaMatos in occupied East Jerusalem.
Properties in 'Judea and Samaria' were being directly offered to attendees by companies at the event.
Will we now get an apology from the @BoardofDeputies acting President and will they publicaly disassociate themselves from this event offering properties in Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory that even our own UK government accepts as being illegal under international law?

BBC have very good presenters and pundits but are inevitably getting heat for their World Cup Salford studio setting. One way to make their shows feel more connected with the tournament is simple: they have good reporters and production teams out here on the ground in Kansas City covering England. Give them more air-time, making the show feel less distant from the action, and bringing more detail and up-to-date info and insight into the Salford debate.
Also, BBC are very successful in their “clips” strategy but it is still strange that there isn’t a morning highlights show of the late-night/overnight World Cup action. BBC have very good staff who could easily do it. It's possible to enjoy clips *and* want a more reflective highlights programme. #FIFAWorldCup
