ethereum has been online ten years straight with zero pauses and zero maintenance windows. in that time: - facebook went down for 14 hours - aws kinesis froze for 17 - cloudflare dropped 19 datacenters - alt L1s…well, you know. every centralised giant blinks, they rely on on-call humans and scheduled downtime. but ethereum never stops, not through forks, crashes, bubbles, lawsuits, hacks, wars, and every kind of drama the internet can throw at it. and it’s not thanks to a CEO or a hotline. it’s not because someone saved it. it’s because we all did. devs, stakers, researchers, users, millions of us, scattered across the world, choosing to show up, block after block, year after year. while banks fail, clouds go dark and servers get patched, ethereum keeps going. we keep going. ten years online. forever to go.

My hot take activist thesis on crypto. Plz reality check this for me 👇 i dont think crypto has failed, quite the opposite. Crypto exists and works and is sufficiently integrated to be resilient. The tech will be activated and massively used in disruptive ways when the actual need for it arises, and that day will come given the trajectory of current politics. We will then see an increase in development and innovation that addresses ux painpoints that will make it safe and easy to use and deliver its permissionless censorship resistant benefits. Bonus point, it will be private too. Many tools will be shipped by established players. Much more will be forked and adapted out of the "compliance" checks used by these regulated players, by hackers who don't care about compliance with US or EU regulations. Crypto will then be split into (i) regtech clearnet type blockchain lead by the US market, and (ii) the rest: china sanctioned countries and developing markets user base. This separation will fuel creative innovation since the lack of a unified space will make it easier to opt in a sandbox mindset. We will see more tools that focus on separating the regtech side from the rest, while both benefit from each other's opensource, forkable, inovation. We won't be using biometrics to log in to our sandboxed wallets, nor will we talk about that side of the chain on twitter. Currently, we must prepare for that time of acceleration, by resting, learning, identifying allies carefully based on actions over time (cute/acc alignment), building crossdisciplinary and crosscultural communities of hackers, cybernetics and trad philosophers, preppers, artists, technologists, advocates and activists of all domains, building libraries and indexes, and most importantly, putting systems into place that will allow us individually and as groups to do what we need to do when the time comes, safely, and ideally, in a playful way Ty for making it that far <3
