We scaled these insights by creating a public website, where people can learn about how cuts to science funding will impact their local area. Data from website users offers converging evidence of effectiveness in terms of changing approval and motivating sharing. 7/8

This is insane.  If this holds and 50% of all grants are suddenly required to be funded for full five years instead of one year (and it sounds like this policy will pass, given the quote from Battacharya?), that means even without any ostensible budget cut, NIH funding next year will go down 1 - (0.5 0.5*0.2) = 40%!
Researchers’ chances of winning a grant from the National Institutes of Health have dropped under a new policy. scim.ag/45h38OS

In this letter in @PNASNews, we respond to a comment on our recent paper. Although multiple factors shape whether we act on our intentions, intentions are valuable precursors of behavior that can guide the iterative development of interventions. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.25…

Out now in @NatureHumBehav: Cuts to NIH funding will impact the economy and employment nationwide. We visualize these losses and advocate for a theory-driven approach to communicating local, self-relevant impact. w/ @joshuasweitz SCIMaP team: nature.com/articles/s41562-0…

Big update to scienceimpacts.org: See the devastating impact of cancelled NIH grants nationwide, and how losses at institutions spread to surrounding communities. All in addition to the future losses that would result from cutting funds for indirect costs of research.
