It's the story of how eight crip artists collectively created a performance about the effects of climate chaos on their lives during an uncontrolled global pandemic, unprecedented wildfires, and the same old racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableism.
We brought together performers in 4 cities to sound a warning, all while navigating a virus that was allowed to spread because of ableist hate. Each interview illuminates disabled BIPOC life during COVID-19, reminds us what weāre fighting for, and gives us new reasons to hope.

I canāt relate to the nondisabled experience because Iāve never lived it.
& I donāt expect nondisabled people to relate to the Disabled experience. Itās just not possible.
You donāt need to have shared experience with disabled people to join the disability justice movement.
when there are natural disasters there is a disproportionate amount of casualties of elderly & disabled people, because SAR isnt properly trained on how to help people with disabilities. this needs to change. I covered it in a workshop of mine [live well with EDS youtube]

Rooted in Rights is casting for an upcoming project as part of the Reclaiming the Border Narrative initiative. We want to connect with disabled folks living in the U.S.-Mexico border region who want to share their experiences through mobile video storytelling.
