For anyone unaware of the Belfast riots, thinking this is an Irish revolution then watch this young lad break it all down. Know who the rioters are! Loyalist = Loyal to 🇬🇧 Republican = Irish 🇮🇪 These rioters will be burning our flag 🇮🇪 in a few weeks!

None of this is satire. → A company spent $500,000,000 on Claude in one month because nobody set usage limits → Uber ran leaderboards ranking engineers by how much AI they used, not what they shipped → Uber burned their entire 2026 budget by April. Their COO said he can’t connect any of it to consumer features → A CTO told Axios employees were using enterprise AI to check the weather → Microsoft canceled most Claude Code licenses because the token bill spiraled → Companies are now laying people off to pay the AI bill. Not because AI replaced the work. Because the bill replaced the headcount.
NEW: AI consultant reveals a client accidentally spent $500,000,000.00 in a single month after failing to set employee limits on Claude usage.

AI is killing All About Berlin. When you Google something, you used to get a link to my website, but now you get an AI-generated answer trained on my work. This has a devastating impact on traffic.

We published our extended story about the remarks by @MistralAI CEO @arthurmensch to the French National Assembly. This has been getting quite a bit of attention, and justifiably so. But I've found it striking for 2 reasons: First, the content. Second, for Mensch himself.

An average household that spent €1,332 per month in early 2020 requires €1,634 in 2025 to purchase the same basket of goods and services. This is about to get far worse #Greece

No smoking gun, but the preponderance of evidence points to smartphones, not economics, as the culprit for the global drop in fertility: • In the US and UK, births fell first and fastest in areas that got 4G earliest • Birth rates were stable in the US, UK and Australia until 2007; in France and Poland until 2009; in Mexico and Indonesia until 2012; in Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal until 2013-15 Each of these inflection points matches local smartphone adoption (see picture). • The younger the age group, the sharper the drop. • in-person socialising among young adults is dropping. In SK, by 50% in 20 years • Sexual dysfunction is higher among heavy social media user • Effect is largest in culturally traditional societies — Middle East, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa • Decline holds across countries hit hard by GFC 2008 and those not hit, fast-growing and not growing. Excellent again @jburnmurdoch. ft.com/content/fba35eca-df3a…
