We’re excited to introduce the call for ISWC Design Exhibition (DesignX) at ACM Ubiquitous Computing and International Symposium on Wearable Computing (ISWC) 2026 in Shanghai, China! 🇨🇳✨ @ubiconf#DesignX@ISWCNET
Submit 4-page short papers (Adjunct Proceedings ACM DL) exploring wearable futures: from on-body sensing and smart prosthetics to responsive fashion, healthcare, and beyond. 🦾🧶👕
Selected works will be exhibited in a museum-style showcase in this October 2026.
This semester, we welcome .STL new members with background and interests ranging from textiles/fashion, industrial design, computer science, soft robotics, to human-computer interaction.
Welcome Charlotte, Yining, Mia, and Joan! 🦾🧶⚙️🌱
We brought together artists and technologists in Singapore to examine how gravitational, mechanical, and environmental forces enact upon objects, environments, and collective experience in 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴: 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 & 𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬.
#ArtsxTechLab at the Aliwal Arts Center.
We're excited to organize a PechaKucha on *Kinetics: Forces and Feedback* on Friday, 27th March at the new Arts x Tech Lab in Aliwal Arts Center, Singapore. ⚙️🌱🤖

During Singapore Art Week and ArtSG, we had the pleasure of meeting @ArtsatMIT, bringing together MIT alumni across Asia in Singapore alongside colleagues from @NTUsg ADM. Special thanks to Ute Meta Bauer and Yung for hosting us in NTU CCA, Gillman Barracks. #ArtsatMIT
The @softtech_lab is growing and seeking new members in 2026! PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, who are nimble to cross disciplines and well-equipped to push the boundaries between soft matter, the internet-of-things, and their human and nature-centric applications. 🧶🦾🧵
We just wrapped up our “Soft Devices” Platform. In a short semester, DID students crafted a diverse range of artifacts integrating textile-based sensors and actuators, engaging with hardware systems. @NUSingapore
Their final works challenged the boundaries of “smart textiles” and “soft robotics,” extending these ideas from wearables to objects and spatial environments.
Thank you to everyone (including organizers and speakers) who joined the “Intelligent Soft Wearables” workshop at ACM UbiComp/ISWC 2025! We had an inspiring session featuring keynote talks by Prof. Haller (Unibz) and Prof. Dunne (UMN). @ubicomp
