LONG update ahead!
First of all, I'm back. On Thursday we concluded observing the week-long traditional Jewish "Shiva" mourning period for my dad, who passed away the week prior. I'm behind my desk and catching up on all things
$CSPR. Quite a few things going on!!
First of all, I want to thank the
#CasperFam for all the love and support you've shown me and my family. It did not go unnoticed and was deeply appreciated. Similarly, I want to thank the teams at
@Casper_Network and
@WeAreTeamMAKE for having my back during my absence.
I was sad to miss
@Permissionless in NYC this week, where I was scheduled to deliver a keynote on how to build a blockchain for real-world use cases, and meet with other founders and executives of the world's leading blockchain projects.
Meanwhile,
@GothamSenator has been representing Casper at
@IstanbulBlockWk this week, meeting with the Turkish Casper community, business partners and Turkish crypto exchanges.
While I missed speaking in NYC, I happily accepted
@Scaramucci and
@krakenfx's invitation to come speak at
@SALTConference Wyoming Blockchain Symposium later this summer, alongside the leadership of the US blockchain industry.
Meanwhile, lots going on with core development and ecosystem projects. Here's a quick rundown:
The Core team is working on wrapping up the first patch release of Casper 2.0, which will include several improvements and optimizations post 2.0 mainnet launch. Alongside that patch release, we will release the audited, 2.0-optimized versions of the CEP-18 and other reference token contracts, currently being audited by
@HalbornSecurity
While this patch is in flight, so is Casper 2.1, which includes the launch of an entirely new Virtual Machine/execution environment. This makes Casper one of the first and only L1s that can run multiple, cross-communicating execution environments on the same layer. The sky is the limit with this concept.
The MAKE team has also been super busy with releasing ecosystem updates. In recent days, we've seen
@csprlive updated with new and improved functionality, as well as a major update to
@casper_wallet, introducing industry-leading UI innovation around signing blockchain transactions. Meanwhile, the
CSPR.cloud team recently merged its 1000th pull request on GitHub, a testament to their hard work on making
@Casper_Network one of the most developer-accessible blockchains out there.
Last month we announced a partnership with Americorp to bring the US Parking Industry on-chain, and I'm happy to report that not only has the development kicked off, but we've also engaged with major non-US players in the parking industry to expand these solutions globally.
This week we announced a partnership with
@Wise_Token to launch the first implementation of Liquid Staking on Casper. With Wise's expansive DeFi offering which includes lending and yield farming across multiple blockchains, adding liquid staking on top of Casper presents a perfect force multiplier for an already strong DeFi offering. I've just caught up on the front end development progress, and can't wait for it to launch. The contracts have been ready and audited by
@HalbornSecurity.
Meanwhile, we're working with
@odradev to implement Wise's vault contracts on Casper, so that the
#CasperFam will be able to participate in the very high guaranteed APYs these real world asset vaults provide.
We are also on the verge of launching
CSPR.name, the name service for the Casper blockchain. The contracts have completed auditing, and the front end is in final testing. Expect this to launch in the next few weeks, and get ready to secure your .cspr domain name.
@HalbornSecurity has been firing on all cylinders, because not only have they recently audited all the aforementioned projects, but they are also wrapping up remediation with
@routerprotocol, which will enable them to launch their innovative bridging solutions on Casper, connecting our network with 50 networks.
@friendlymarkets recently completed an upgrade on all their smart contracts and their back end, to support new features in Casper 2.0. Alongside that, they have been hard at work on a secretive project that we expect will launch in the next 2-3 weeks. Get ready to have some fun with that one!
@Ledger released a new version of their Casper app last week, which implements all the latest and greatest functionality in Casper 2.0, alongside an updated version of Ledger Live and its integration with the Casper Network.
@cryptocom started providing institutional custody of
$CSPR, and is eager to service large institutions on their second-to-none custody architecture.
Meanwhile,
@NOWNodes added support for Casper, allowing developers to easily access both shared and dedicated RPC nodes on the Casper Network, without having to manage the infrastructure themselves.
The Casper developer community is actively discussing new CEPs, such as CEP-95. If you're a developer with an opinion on token standards, feel free to participate in the discussions!
On the organizational front, you will soon notice some changes in our marketing & communication. On the ecosystem side, we are advancing collaborations with oracle providers, bridges, DeFi protocols, stablecoin issuers and major exchanges, alongside real-world asset projects.
In a few days from now it will be the 7-month anniversary of
@GothamSenator and me taking over the reigns at the Casper Association. While we are encouraged by the progress we've been able to make in a mere 7 months, organizationally as well as on the product and ecosystem side, we are also very aware that there's a long road ahead. With many building blocks now in place, our focus is now on empowering projects to unleash their use cases, and their users, on Casper Network. This is Casper's time to shine! 👻
