I wish all the vote-by-mail-is-secure shouters knew something about cybersecurity. 1) A chain is only as strong as its weakest link 2) Never consider a system "secure" 3) Always look for exploits, test-replicate and eliminate them 4) Practice continuous vigilence and awareness 5) Use data and statistical anomolies as signals To me, in CA and WA and likely other vote-by-mail states, there is HUGE exploit window with "vote-by-attestation," and we do not even know the extent of its use, because the Secretaries of State do not track or report the number of ballots submitted via witness attestation.

I don’t mean to be callous. But if the IPO fizzled yesterday, would your situation be any different today? Are you worse off because he’s a trillionaire? Were you better off on Thursday when he wasn’t?
I am 52 years old. I have been working since I was 15 years old. I have no savings, no retirement, and will never own a home before I die. And there is now a trillionaire.

Today I learned $1 Trillion in wealth is excessive but $40 Trillion in debt is totally cool… 💁‍♂️

Coming up on the two year anniversary of this tweet. How’d it go, @GavinNewsom?

This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.

Still thinking about how crazy this is. Only in the press world could you do something this scandalous, never provide an explanation, be hired by multiple other outlets in the meantime, and then get promoted to head of the White House press corps.
I'm honored to be elected president of the @whca for 2028–2029. I look forward to serving my colleagues across the White House press corps to ensure robust and independent coverage of the presidency. I’m excited to build on the strengths of the association, including our shared commitment to a free and fair press.

Exactly what is happening. The number of business leaders I'm contacting that are leaving is eye-popping. WA is going to trade out the "building class" for the "dependent class."

“It’s an incredible statistic. It’s true… don’t tell us if you’re ahead of us on the math…”
Brad, a 5% tax on Elon's trillion net worth would literally pay for free college and trade school for every American. And with the market's growth, he still would be worth over a trillion dollars! You don't think that's worth it?
Community note
5% of $1.2T is $60b. 8m students in BA/BS programs on average pay over $20k/yr, or ~$160b/yr for BA/BS degrees only. That tax could not cover even half of only US bachelor degree costs for just 1 year, excluding grad, ass., or trade degrees totaling another ~10m students. nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/i… bestcolleges.com/research/colle…

"Our envy always lasts longer than the happiness of those we envy." - La Rochefoucauld, Maxims, 1665 "Comparison is the thief of joy." - often attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, but original author debated Congratulations to the SpaceX team on an amazing milestone. Incredible to think that the company was founded in 2002, when CSI was the top show and JLo had a #1 hit. Most of us can remember back 24 years... think of all that's been accomplished since then! Incredible. We should be grateful we live in a place where this kind of dream can be dreamt.

It’s also a good time to reflect back on that moment — you likely had it — when you thought “an individual risking all that PayPal money to build an ELECTRIC CAR company?” And then “rockets? Seriously?!” Amazing.

Seriously, hats off to @elonmusk, Gwynne Shotwell, and the incredible SpaceX team. Can't wait to see what's ahead, and THANK YOU for bringing a big, bold, optimistic view of the future back to our lives.

Imagine if your iPhone allowed anyone to access it, as long as they put an "X" on the screen and then scribbled on a line, attesting that you allowed them in. That's basically what the vote by mail systems in CA and WA are like (though WA requires two witness scribbles, not one.) I am not alleging fraud has occurred. But does that sound secure? (In WA and CA, that’s how vote by mail works. And we don’t even know how many ballots are counted via witness attestation.)

Yes Gavin... the system is rigged Elon built companies... how did you buy this?
Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas while Elon Musk becomes a TRILLIONAIRE. When the federal government is for sale, the rich get richer and everyone else gets shafted. The system is rigged.

There are about 700 $SPCX employees in Washington State, building starlink hardware. Most or all of them are becoming millionaires today — or perhaps adding millions to their net worth today. @GovBobFerguson have you thought about how strong their incentive is to redomicile to SpaceX’s HQ near Austin TX?

Charlie Munger described envy as a "really stupid sin" because it is the only deadly sin that causes constant misery with absolutely no fun attached. Hating someone because they're successful is what losers do.

SpaceX is turning Science Fiction in Science Nonfiction. Elon is a now trillionare. Neil deGrasse Tyson was wrong. SpaceX was 1st to successfully land and reuse an orbital-class rocket booster in 2017. NASA never accomplished this. Just the beginning!
